This move by Delta really bugs me.

Delta Air Lines to strip SkyMiles rewards on basic economy tickets

Beginning next year, the airline will no longer allow basic economy fares to earn points, but it is giving customers a more flexible way to cancel those tickets.

Not that I fly a ton, but usually enough to get a freebie every 3 years of so.

I fly Delta a lot and am not at all happy with this.

I do when they have deals too good to pass up.
I just booked a basic economy flight with another airline for $58 roundtrip. I normally would have paid over $200 for main cabin.
