Huh, well that proves me wrong. Odd they still have him listed as an IOL on 247 then. They originally had him as a DL and switched him to IOL. They also switched the Mike Gerald from ATH to CB today after he committed and it was said that he was going to be a CB for us instead of WR. Wonder if 247 is just behind then...
 



Will the Gophers land OT Emerson Mandell or Nathan Roy?

Love the sentiment. I can also see several heading to the NFL. Doing a great job recruiting and developing. Coach Debo might be a diamond. This is turning into a great class

Lackey committed to Virginia. I think they’ll take a WR either Brown or Johnson instead of a DB otherwise I agree with you.
 






247 and rivals don’t show a visit for Lackey. On3 is the only one showing a visit. I think On3 is wrong. There are 5 DB commits already. I doubt they take another.
 

I stand corrected rivals shows Lackey visiting on one place and not visiting in another place. Very.strange.
 

Pretty sure he was on the 247 visits page prior but not since he committed to Virginia. 247 probably just quicker to update.
 


One thing I did not know until yesterday when Burns mentioned it on KFAN, was that it was only fairly recently when the NCAA started allowing schools to have recruiting official visits over the summer.

Quite obviously, that's massive for a school like Minnesota.

I believe the recent change is only in the number of OV a recruit can have. It's now unlimited. However, they can only visit a school twice as an OV unless a coaching change. Fleck has been doing the summer thing for a few years now.

Yes, a few years can be fairly recently, and is what I meant. Would seem so obvious, why didn't Kill, Brew do it? Must only be a few years old rule.

I believe that the rule allowing summer official visits went into effect in 2018.

What are we thinking for round 2? I think we pull Bronaugh, Bibbs, and 1 of the unrated OL.

We need 3 of the 4 visiting OL. They have 5 DL already. They’re waiting on Gilmore. 2 more Kissayi and Carter are visiting. How many will they take?

I'd be elated with 2. If they get 3 of the guys this weekend, swing by my section at HBS vs Nebraska and I'll buy you a beer. That would be an absolute haul.

I agree, they probably need at least 3 OL this class but I wouldn't be surprised if there's other targets. PJ doesn't seem to wait around. If a player doesn't commit early then he moves on to the next guys.
