Still a supportive fan - how many do we have left?

I'm in.

Always excited for the next game....and for this season.

I hope Brewster can have a breakthrough year this year.

Boise State would be just another team in the Big Ten - their record over the last decade would be vastly different if they played in a different conference.

When was the last time the Gophers were ranked 3rd in the country? Granted Boise State may be just another team in the Big 10 annually, but at least they've jumped up this year to a national ranking. If the Gophers could just do this every now and then, I think people would be happier with the program

Count me in.

Two points: 1) The team consists of young men who have committed themselves to The University of Minnesota, who are working hard, and deserve the support and respect of Gopher fans. 2) The season has a long way to go to play itself out. The time for evaluation and decisions will arrive after the season is complete. Stop the hysteria - please.

Define "every now and then".

Ranked as high as #20 in 2008
Ranked as high as #18 in 2005
Ranked as high as #13 in 2004
Ranked as high as #17 in 2003
Ranked as high as #23 in 2002
Ranked as high as #22 in 2000
Ranked as high as #13 in 1999

I could keep going, but I think the point has been made.

I don't think being supportive and telling it like it is are mutually exclusive. So, I'm in as well.

The Gophers are not much to be proud of right now but I don't blame the players for that.

I've found it useful. All the haters come out of a closet after bad weeks. It's nice to be reminded there are relatively few of them.

Absolutely...I'm in and always will be! I'll never miss a game and will love the Gophers until I die (which may be of a heart attack at age 32 if we don't win another game this year). SKI-U-MAH!

Always a supporter! There every week, loud and proud. Supported Mason til the end, support Brewster, and will support the next coach (if the U decides that is the direction to go)

Does criticism = hater?

Well of course not. That's almost as silly an assumption as posting on a fan board makes the poster a fan. No, better still while all critics aren't haters, all posters certainly aren't fans. Just the simple act of asking if people on the board have given up on the team or still support it, after Saturday's debacle and this week's media frenzy, that alone really irritates you?

Seriously?

Not irritated. I just said I don't see the point. Will this happen after every loss?

Around here, yes, not positive 100% is a hater.

Do you find this statement ironic from a person who came to this board portraying the moderators as haters from your example that your friend was banned?

Right, you just can't get grasp it.:horse:

Will you continue to ask pointless loaded questions? Will you continue to post again and again on a thread that you find pointless? Will this freshman philosophy class continue?

Who says soap operas are all dying.

Now after the hijacking is done, back to the originally scheduled thread.

Hey, just wanted to let you know I'm still a fan. I'll keep you posted.

Funny, funny. Turns out the mods were haters but later lifted the ban when they saw their error.

I was right about the banning, they admitted as much.

All I'm saying is, until recently, if you said a negative thing about the Gophers you'd get jumped on by a bunch of people. Granted, they don't make up the majority of the users here but for every true hater you have 2 homers. Haters and homers are equally annoying, IMO.

No, haters are annoying; maybe moreso than trolls. Homers are to be expected when you are posting on a fan website. Being a homer and supporting your team in bad times is not annoying.
