Will this game be much like the Penn State and Nebraska games where it felt like the majority of the game was standing or will it be more of butts in the chairs kinda day on Saturday?

Colder weather usually means standing
Agreed. I’ll be standing if for no other reason than I don’t want my rear on that cold plastic seat. But I’ll be jumping up and down and losing my voice as well, touchdown, interception, touchdown, touchdown... right up to the storming of the field.

Sec. 209 guys, bring a blanket to sit on. I like to stand for big plays, but there is no need to stand the entire game.

Everyone will be standing. The atmosphere should eclipse the atmosphere for the Penn St game. It will be amazing.

Stand during the game, sit during commercials. Best game experience!

At the PSU game, I had a 80+ year old gentleman behind me with a walker, even he stood the entire game!

This Wisconsin game is too good to sit.

Just to be clear, standing doesn’t make you a better or more engaged fan. The energy of the moment often results in standing and of course let those moments seize you. But, in honor of those who have supported the Gophers since the last time they were Rose Bowl bound as well as the shorter youth that will be our future - take a seat and show respect to all. Obviously need not apply to the student section - stand, jump, holler, repeat. F.A.M.I.L.Y.

Stood the whole Penn St game, imagine it will be exactly the same for Wisc, only more energy in the stadium and even more full.

LOL. You sound real fun to be around. Biggest game in forever and you can't even get excited enough to stand for a few minutes at a time?

We're aspiring to be Elite, so an example.....at Oklahoma games, everyone stands the entire game and only sits during tv timeouts, quarter breaks, etc. Been that way for decades. Most Elite football programs have the same tradition. We expect effort from the players and the players appreciate effort from the fans.

Sorry...I'll be standing if I was in front of you! You want to see the game, stand up like the rest of us.

Standing for sure. I had Outdoor Club seats for the PSU game, and I was warned that it was populated by a heavy Medicare-eligible population that would grouse at folks who stood. However, pretty much everyone was standing the entire game.

If it's just a couple people, it's easy to single them out.

But if the whole damned stadium is standing up ... then you better stand if you want to see something other than the back of a jacket.

One addition: if you’re the kind of person to constantly ask others to sit down while you’re at a football game that’s going to decide a division title, please do the rest of us a favor and watch the game at home where you can sit as much as you damn well like.

For those of you that like to SIT and enjoy the game....Another thought...you bought tickets to come to the game in person to EXPERIENCE a real LIVE game experience right? Well, a game like this caliber, you'll experience the entire stadium is standing up cheering on our Gophers! There you go!

If you want to be "comfortable" and sitting down, you should really just sell your tickets and stay home so you can sit.

You want to experience REAL 2019 Gopher's quest for a Championship season type of home game, well, get ready to stand and cheer and not b!tch. Now if the person is a Wisconsin fan, then please, yell away at that.

Standing for sure. I can't sit down in games like this, don't ask me to do so either. Nobody in the stadium sat at all during the Penn State game, with more of the same energy coming on Saturday I expect the atmosphere will be wild. Lost my voice yelling at the Penn State offense and I expect to do the same to the Badgers on Saturday. Penn State had a hard time communicating, we can affect this game too if we all yell at the Badgers when they are on offense.

That is a bit disrespectful sir. There are people who have dedicated much to be there and been there much longer than you. Standing, siting, do what you want but don't be a crab about it. It is not all about you. Some of our older fans cannot stand all the time and would love to if they could. You will be there too at some point. Maybe be mindful and let them catch a big play or two.

Stand for sure. Besides the excitement level, standing is warmer too.

I'll be doing whatever the people in front of me are doing. I let the circumstances dictate my behavior

I’m sorry, I’ve heard this argument a few times and it rings a bit hollow for me. Exactly how far do we take this? There are some fans who have sensory issues so let’s not be loud on third down? There are some fans who don’t like alcohol so please don’t drink near them?

I don’t think it’s a reasonable expectation to ask a stadium to accommodate the needs of a minority of fans. This is a huge game for the Gophs and home field advantage relies on creating an inhospitable environment for the opposing team. Hard to do that if you’re sitting down.

I stood for the entire Penn State game. Having said that, if there was an 85 year old guy behind me that couldn't stand the whole game, I would have had no problem sitting so he could see the game. It's just the decent thing to do.

Another thought, there are people bought tickets since the 60's who cannot stand the whole time but deserve to catch a play or two or maybe the whole game. There is a respectful way to include those who have been so dedicated and can no longer stand up and down the entire game. Give them a break here and there or offer to switch seats. Maybe its just a young persons game. To hell with those who have stuck with it but cannot still be young.

How are they getting to the game? Are they physically able to walk into the stadium and get to their seats? If so they are physically able to stand for the what 7 seconds a football play averages?

No one on this board or at the game has any disrespect for the elderly/infirm/young kids that can't/don't want to stand. However, this topic would not even be a discussion or point of debate for fans of The Bigs...you stand and scream the whole game.

People who can't stand for long periods of time or get up and down repeatedly certainly can get to a game.
