Is tomorow's Alumni game set to be a real game? It seems each year not enough alumni show up to have a game, more like a scrimmage. Only worth driving 75 mi to see if there's no way to see the incoming new players perform. Any info?
what is the scoop on these 2 pitchers? If I have this figured correctly, I think that 2023 recruiting might be complete. There are 3 Graduate players and 3 Seniors on the current roster. There are currently six 2023 commitments:
Jessa Snippes, MN, Pitcher
Cameron Grayson, IN, Pitcher
Lucy Hooper, KS, SS
Lacie Lilyquist, WI, Utility
Brooklyn Jones, MN, Catcher
Tara Wolocko, TX, Catcher/3rd Base
It's good to see that there are both two catchers and 2 pitchers.
Snippes is the best pitcher in MN in her class. Pitched Rosemount to the state championship in 2021. I don't know much about Grayson other than she has a variety of pitches. She also seems to be a capable hitter.what is the scoop on these 2 pitchers?
That post didn't age well! Gophers received another 2023 commitment from Macy Richardson of Tecumseh, NE who is a Pitcher/Utility player. I could find very little information about her. Her high school does not have a softball program. She only played travel ball.If I have this figured correctly, I think that 2023 recruiting might be complete. Latest 2024 commit is Tinley Easton from Lexington, KY

Early signing starts today. When is signing day? Little frustrated as my step-daughter is really good but isn't getting the attention that I think she deserves.
Also documented in this thread was the commitment of Cameron Chard of Belle Plaine. I suspect she was their #1 target among in-state players for 2024, although there are always several local/regional players out there who project as a potential contributor in a P5 conference so we will probably see more commitments from this group as the coaches see how they perform in their junior year of HS and travel ball this summer. For the incoming class that will be freshman in the 2025 season we currently have two commitments (Susa from Ohio and Easton from Kentucky) who will fill spots left by four graduating players who are now Juniors (Hambrick, Ehlke, Ceynowa, and Gardner).
Are there any Minnesota high school players who are currently Juniors that we should really be looking at to add to that group?
Nice article on Kylinn in the Mankato Free press: https://www.mankatofreepress.com/sp...cle_f72bcc30-93bb-11ee-b4a1-2f7c46c1df0d.htmlNow that the 2024's have signed, Time to look at the 2025's. First up is Kylinn Stangl from Mankato East:
After 2 rather undistinguished years at Oregon, she transferred to North Florida. She seems to be producing well there. Probably 2 reasons for that:I see Benning was the StarTribune metro player of the year and is being compared to Montana Fouts from Alabama. Did we offer her?
VERY undistinguished years at Oregon. That being said, I am happy that she is doing well now. After 2 rather undistinguished years at Oregon, she transferred to North Florida. She seems to be producing well there. Probably 2 reasons for that:
- Fiser is the pitching coach
- The conference isn't that good
True, but with Susa even if she doesn’t become the next Nemeth and dominate right away, one can’t help but being fairly confident she can still perform as well or better than anyone on the staff did this season. Ohio produces a lot of very good players. We are fortunate to land one of the best of this year’s crop.Susa appears to be one helluva high school pitcher. As of today, she is the key player on the number one ranked team in the state of Ohio.
Too bad no one really knows for sure how a pitcher will transition between high school and college level.
You did. Rory Salvesen from Hatley, WI. Middle IF/Utility. Some highlights here:I thought I saw on either instagram or twitter gophers singed another, not sure the year.
