Sid Hartman: Kill, Teague rarely worked together at U; relationship was strained

On Reusse's show Saturday, He referred to Teague as a "man about town." Strong Implication that Teague liked the night-life. Reusse suggested that the U should take a closer look at Teague's expense reports to see if he was billing the U for his "lifestyle."

Gist was that other people knew Teague liked to drink and chase women - so Sid is not the only one coming out with this type of information.

I HEARD HE LIKE TO CHASE THEM BUT HAD TROUBLE CATCHING THEM. KIND LIKE HIS FUND RAISING. HAD TROUBLE CLOSING THE DEAL.

Should we start a list of all people that like to drink and chase women?

I prefer to drink and then have them chase me due to my wit and charm. But that's just me.

Now Sid on his radio show says it better be O'Brien as the new AD or they are in big trouble. So he's budding in where he doesn't belong. "I don't want to talk about any other names," he said. That night school diploma is really paying off, Sid.

Then he again displays his racism referring to the TCU qb with a "cotton pickin'" line

Maybe he should partner with Dayton on this one, given Dayton's record of getting what he wants from the U. Dayton was able to put pressure on the U and the independent Board of Regent to drop the proposal to bundled hockey tickets with football tickets for the students. Normally a Governor would not get involved with this type of the day to day management decisions, but being a former hockey goalie, Dayton decided that he needed to make the "save". So if Sid wants to get his man he is going to have to partner with some big guns like the governor.

Dropping Carolina and adding TCU, given the respect Kill has for Patterson makes absolutely no sense.

I think raising 70+ million says otherwise. It sucks what happened but like it or not the archives will say Norwood Teague will have played a big part in getting the new athletic village built. His three year reign will also be known as a time when there was a culture shift in the athletic department. Hopefully successor doesn't meet the same resistance from the loons who have tried to keep athletics down the last forty years.

If you think even a fraction of that $70 million was donated to the U because Teague was in the room you don't have a clue. People who have donated large amounts for the new sports facilities were not going to do it until they they had the opportunity to talk to Nanne, Kaler, or Kill. Teague's primary role was to set up the meetings and order the food and booze.

I think the reason for the strained relationship is that Jerry wanted to keep his wife away from Norwood!

It seems like underneath it all, Teague was a "basketball guy" & the "football people" didn't care for him. Jerry Kill won. As for Petino... That situation could get interesting.

NT brought this on himself, didn't have anything to do with Kill or Kill "winning". What I think is funny to watch in all this is how quick everyone is jumping to distance themselves as far from NT as possible. Prior to this all the posts on here were about how much NT supported Kill and how great they got along, now it is they had a strained relationship and couldn't work together.

NT clearly has some major issues to deal with and he deserved what happened to him but I think it is interesting to see all the people that were praising NT not all that long ago suddenly acting like they hated him all along.

Oh and for those of you that think this is a good thing for Kill it might be.....of course anytime a coach has to deal with a new AD there is a ton of pressure on them to win or the AD may just want to bring in his guy. Sid has been tossing out Dan O'Brien as an option and for Kill that would be a best case scenario since O'Brien was the director of football ops under Kill for multiple years and would probably be less inclined to look elsewhere for a new coach at the first sign of trouble.

I'm not at saying the underlying things I mentioned, had anything to do with why he was fired. He clearly did it to himself. I was merely commenting on the appearance (IMO) of a secondary rift in the power structure of the top people in the athletic dept, and the effects of Teaches resignation, going forward. But the primary thing is that we are better off with that creepy piece of s%&t gone.

Exactly. Sad, but this is typical. Some of us have known Teague from the jump. Still other stuff out there (not women-related)... hope it stays resting and doesn't get out to the masses.

I stop believing in anything you say after you said that Kill would be gone after three years. Is nice to hear you are still playing the I have "inside information" card you poser.

Good Lord, you are a joke. Just can't help yourself. So what is it? Be a reporter. Break the story. Just another in a line of trash posts.

The year I said I thought Kill would be gone is AFTER this season. Hold your horses.

That is BS. You can rip him all you want. Racism is never been a part of who he is. A stupid cheapshot.

The "PC" word police is so tiresome.
