Shooter: And word in coaching circles is that Tom Crean would love to have the Minnesota job.

Yes, yes, yes and yes. I don't think people on here realize how bad Ben and his staff have been. All of these coaches would be a massive upgrade.
How do you propose that Crean or others would acquire & keep better players than Payne, Hawkins, Cristie....Battle, Cooper...Amari Allen...etc.?

5 dollars and 3 Rice Krispies box tops?

Crean has been able to attract top end talent. However, there's a reason no one else has taken a chance on him - he can't actually coach. He had Anthony Edwards and went 5-13 in the SEC. His last year at Georgia he was 1-17. I'm sure the casual fan will see a name they recognize and get all excited. The "create fanbase buzz" crowd will be ecstatic.
That right there, should eliminate him from ever coaching again.

I get that this is a bit because no one is as a big of an idiot as you come off. Even on the internet.

But it is getting really old.

And yet you won't answer the question.

Are you actually stupid enough to believe that a new coach will mean we will start paying for players??

We won't pay for Payne, Hawkins, Battle, Cooper...Amari Allen...

But with a new coach we will?

Dumber than a bucket of rocks.

We pay players today. A new coach will bring in a better system and a better culture and get better players with what we can offer. Many teams with less resources are far better than the Gophers.

This has been explained to you 100 times yet you still keep repeating the same nonsensical stupidity. Give it up.

Plus Tom Crean would be a terrible choice.

100% right. Let's take a guy who failed at IU and UGA and expect him to win big here....

I blocked that clown for a reason...

What is your question? Can someone, anyone do a better job with our existing resources? The answer is easily yes. Can some level of success lead to expanded resources? Absolutely.

The fact that you don’t get this is funny also kind of sad.

Tom Crean would be a terrible choice but let's be honest, if he duplicated his record at Indiana here they would would build a statue and rename the floor Crean Court at Williams Arena

True, even knowing he was 71-91 in the B10 over 9 years, despite having multiple NBA players on his rosters. At a place like Indiana, I think everyone on this board could coach to that record...

We pay ONE player a decent amount.

A better system & culture will keep valuable players instead of big money?? You must be dumber than a bucket of rocks.

Out of say 250 non-paying teams, you try to point out 6 or 7 per year that over-achieved...which comes out to a very good season about once every 40 years.

How is someone going to do better when they lose all the players (except maybe 1) when they become valuable? To be good in the Big Ten, you need good players at all 5 positions. Or at least 4.

And I'm not the negative one in here. Everyone else just slings mud non stop at the coach.

Asuma will be a solid Big10 player. He has the body and quickness. It was evident against Purdue and it showed his superiority over Patterson and Odukale at the point.

No one wants to work for a company that is circling the drain and run by idiots. No one wants to invest in a company circling the drain and ran by idiots.

It’s really just common sense and people shouldn’t have to spell this out for you.

Players will be more interested in the program if we have better coaching and are winning. There will also be more NIL funds if we have better coaching and are winning.

Right now, we have an embarrassingly terrible program that generates zero interest. There cannot be a worse scenario for generating interest and/or $$$.

So yes, the new coach will pay the players and he’ll likely have more money to do it (if they hire right).

This is really simple stuff. Just look at every program better than us, they’re easy to find.

Btw- you said battle was run off by Betts being dominant in practice. That was one of the dumbest things ever posted on any message board.

Crean was responsible for adding a verb to the English language.

Other than that, he’d be a bad choice. IMO
