This is is bit of a knee-jerk reaction, because I haven't seen every single play for Colorado. That being said, I don't know if I've ever seen a college QB play as well under constant pressure from pass rushers as this kid. I mean, every time I've watched a Colorado game he pretty much gets the living crap beat out of him, yet he keeps getting up and making crucial plays.

He doesn't appear to be all that much of a scrambler/runner, but he sure looks like a "baller", as the kids like to say.
 

As an aside, Arch Manning could be a stiff as Sid would say. Done nothing, and cannot beat out a fellow stiff.
 


He does face a lot of pressure, but he also has a tendency to hold the ball too long. That said there's no denying his physical talent, and he does seem like a tough kid.

Don't really put taking a chance on a guy like Moss who made some dumb choices in the same class as the Coach Prime traveling circus that is going to follow Shaeur and Shilo to the NFL. I view it a lot like all the crap around Lavar Ball on the basketball side. Kids are talented....but the drama and other crap just isn't worth it.

Agree. Just mentioned Moss because he was labeled as a potential problem. Though not perfect, he ended up being one of the best ever.

Fair enough. Maybe the Ball family is a fair comparison. The one son seems to be holding his own in the NBA.

Someone will take a risk. The NFL is all about measurables. If he does good in workouts, he will get a look.

I have no doubt Shadeur in particular will be a really high draft pick for somebody next year. Hell, he might even end up being a really good player but the bust potential is also really high and thankfully the Vikings aren't likely to spend a high pick on another QB so they should be clear.

Very few guys who get 'the circus' in college keep it in the pros, where there's lots of rich and famous guys and sons of former players. For example, the Ball brothers are just regular dudes now in the NBA, and that was the biggest father-son circus I can recall in sports.

The only risk would be in drafting him, where Deion sounds like he might try to block certain franchises from picking him, based on weather and reputation. For example, the Browns may be in the QB market and picking high and I could see him causing a circus with that. Vikings are indoors and have a very good recent reputation as being well-run, but won't be in the market for him.

Agree. Succinctly, time will tell. I have no idea where he will end up. Since the NFL is a business, they may use prior history as a contract bargaining chip. Especially if it is a "preferred" team.

Yes. Also going up a level can easily humble many players. Just saw one of the sons make a high play the other day.

Going back to Deion's sons, I doubt that they talk that much at the next level. If they do, Not For Long...

I don’t see any reason they’ll talk less in the NFL. So many damn guys are yapping constantly

If I'm the coach I don't mind a bit if my guys talk trash. This is entertainment, after all.

They need to back it up with performance or they will be talking it from the bench, or at their home TV set.
 

Can't really point to anything in particular, but him seems like one of those QBs who is great for college but struggles in the pros. Definitely can't argue how good and consistent he is, stats are pretty jaw dropping all four years.

My gut instinct with him is that he will end up joining the long list of first round QB busts but who knows.....

I'm optimistic on Shedeur. I love QBs who did well without all the talent advantages around him, and he's done that at Jackson State and Colorado.

He's got Hunter to work with but he's also had porous lines and a lot of pressure on him, and should transition more smoothly into quarterbacking a bad team on Day 1 versus someone from a CFP-level team who's used to receivers winning matchups and more time to throw.
 


the team that tries to draft Shedeur may be drafting a big headache. Deion was on FS1 and said he will play an active role in his son's draft process:

Colorado coach Deion Sanders says he’ll do his part to steer his son, quarterback Shedeur Sanders, and Buffaloes’ receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter to better situations in next year’s NFL Draft.

During an appearance on Fox Sports 1’s “Speak,” Deion Sanders was asked by co-host Keyshawn Johnson if he would step in during the draft process if the “wrong” team drafted Shedeur.

“Yeah, but I’m not going to do it publicly. I’ll do it privately,” Sanders said. “I’m gonna be Dad until the cows come home, and with Travis as well.”

The Athletic’s Dane Brugler had Hunter as No. 1 on his latest list of the top 50 NFL Draft prospects. Sanders was No. 23, third among quarterbacks behind Miami’s Cam Ward and Alabama’s Jalen Milroe.

I mean he’s had plus WRs everywhere. Weaver was drafted last year and Hunter Horn and Shepard all are getting buzz for this year with Wester now getting some buzz and Omarion miller expected to play in the NFL. Their line has been poor but their wrs are extremely good

Wowza. Comparing a HOF player, who from all info I’ve seen was a well liked teammate, successful collegiate coach and person who created his own NIL, before the term branding, was a thing to a marginal D1 basketball player, alleged NFL practice squad player for a season - per his Wikipedia and shoe huckster, is a stretch that even makes this guy jealous🤦‍♂️-

lol.....Prime is defintely not a turd the way Lavar was it was just the best example I could come up with off the top of my head where the personality of the parent could end up being an issue for the player in terms of how they are perceived.

Big difference to me and the point I was making, is that Prime’s been successful at pretty much everything he’s tied and LaVar Bell? Prime will come correct in this situation, as he’s not drafting off his kids accomplishments and he may harbor an interest in coaching in the NFL at some point, if FSU doesn’t nab him first.

Sheddeur isn’t doing anything different than what Eli Manning did, Deion doing this so his kid doesn’t have to, makes me think he’s simply protecting him from internet grief.
