No, foolish poster: it is the administrators who make the hires and terminations. The administrators also determine just how much support the football program is given. We have SUCH a long record of hiring and firing coaches. And why do you suppose that so MANY coaches have been unable to last more than about four to five years on the job at the University of Minnesota. And it has NOTHING to do with how hard the coaches worked...or...anything of the kind. Coach Mason lasted TEN seasons. He lasted a hell of a lot longer than MANY of the coaches who have been fired since Bernie Bierman was run out the door.
You just don't have a clue, do you. LOOK at the past 10 years. Look at the past 20 years. Look at the past 30 years. Look at the past HALF Century or MORE. Anything post WWII has shown a rough road and a somewhat downward trend. Murray was a fantastic coach. He did some great things. Cal Stoll did some good things. lou hoax cut and ran in less than two complete seasons. Guttey hung on for a season or two. Mason did some good things. Would you seriously say that Salem, Wacker, and your boy Brewster were lazy bums? They represented a chunk of time that was not good. But, they were trying. They were working. And, they just could NOT get the job done.
You appear to have a pretty slanted and biased point of view costa rican gopher.
