Reusse is such an a$$hole.

Trevor Mbakwe tweeted about "unfinished business.'' OK, big guy ... you come back & Gophers win NIT next year.

Yeah, but are we really surprised?

The only thing that surprised me with him recently is that he didn't have anything smart-alecky to say about after Gary Tinsley's passing. I even tried to bait him into it:

@1500ESPN_Reusse You always have plenty to say when Gophers lose, how about something smarmy on today's tragic loss, you hack? RIP #GT51

Thank goodness he didn't bite. It might have put me over the edge with this perpetual ass.

I hate Reusse, he's such a "hippo"-crite! That fatty would roll his huge butt onto the bandwagon as quick as anyone.

I do like that Trevor RT it though lol

On one hand: Yeah, this is uncalled for. Is this what's known as "journalism?"

On the other hand: For pete's sake, it's time for the Gophers to put up or shut up. How about the team being successful enough that they're not an easy target. Like it or not, they ARE the object of jokes in the community; Reusse just happens to have a lot of Twitter followers.

There is no sports team in Minnesota right now that isn't an object of jokes in the community. Reusse just happens to go over the top when it comes to anything Gopher related.

I don't appreciate his snide comments but many times he's right. The best way to shut him up is for our revenue sports to be less pathetic.

Ruesse is an a$$, but oh well. Let Mbakwe and the rest of the team use that as motivation to shut his fat a$$ up.

I have a feeling he will always be this way, not matter how good or bad we are. It's just his thing.

Low class, but not a big deal to me at all. It's his schtick, we all know it, why even address it?

People need to stop trying to think of him as a journalist. He isn't. He is a columnist. There is a big difference. As a columnist and radio personality this is his schtick. It PO's the people who read it and drives higher listening numbers and pageviews. He is a poor man's Paul Finnenbaum.

He's still a journalist. He is an opinion columnist rather than a reporter, but both would still be considered journalists.

Doesn't really matter. He just sucks at what he does.

Occasionally Reusse is treated unfairly, but this tweet was inexcusable to me. Why would a middle aged journalist decide to tweak a college athlete over Twitter like that? To me, that shows a complete lack of professionalism on Reusse's part. I am glad Trevor took it in good humor, but it's really sad that Reusse thought that tweet was amusing and/or appropriate. If Reusse made a similar tweet towards Tubby, Maturi, or anyone else being paid to put a good product on the floor, I'd have no issue with it. Some GopherHoler's have to get over the idea that the media should be "positive" towards Gopher athletics when the results on the court/field are consistently negative.

His beloved Twins are now 0-4. As he said in a recent article. " I'm a baseball guy" If the Twins are cooked by July 4th he'll start taking early shots at Gopher football.

The Twins are fully cooked right now.

You are one generous person EG#9.

I normally give Ruesse the benefit of the doubt, but that was a needless cheap-shot directly at a college athlete for no reason. Pathetic.

That's worse than anything Reusse ever tweeted.

Reusse has also said we should trade Love for a top three lottery pick this year. Huh?

I'd take that trade in a heartbeat. IMO (and I realize this puts me in the minority) Kevin Love is the most overrated player in the NBA right now. He is a good player and a player you need on your team, he helps your team, and is a necessary piece to win, but no team with Love as its best player will ever compete for a championship.

If you swapped Love for Kobe, Wade, Durant, LBJ, Dirk, etc. the currently constructed wolves would immediately make the playoffs and yet people want to give Love MVP because he puts up inflated numbers on a bad team. If you think there is a talent at the level of LBJ, Wade, Kobe, etc. in the top 3 you make that deal without thinking twice.

Do you realize how much it costs him in postage to mail in his columns?

get a grip

Get over it, I admit I chuckled when I saw it.

Trevor re-tweeted it. I think he is going to be alright.

I don't think with Dirk the T-Wolves are in the playoffs. What does he add to the team that Love doesn't and does that make up for what Love adds that Dirk doesn't? With any player that isn't a PF and is a top 5 player in the league, the T-Wolves are in the playoffs? Well ya, is that supposed to mean something? Is it Love's fault that management decided to build a team with no SG or SF? There is not a single PF in the NBA that would get the T-Wolves in the playoffs because of the lack of talent at other positions. Your argument is meaningless.

If we swapped Dirk for Love, Dallas would instantly improve (substantially) and we wouldn't be close to making the playoffs.

Trading Love for a top 3 pick in the draft would be one of the single dumbest moves ever made in the NBA. You can't make an argument that "you can't win an NBA Championship with KLove being your best player." It's dumb. Love is far better than any player on the Detroit teams that won it all. Love is better this year than Dirk was last year.

He scores more at a similar efficiency than Dirk did last year.
Almost twice as many rebounds.
Better defensive player by just about every metric.

Yep. Honestly I feel like the only reason the Wolves aren't a shoo-in for the playoffs (even without Rubio) is because of the SG and SF positions. You can have the best PF of all time and this team would still probably struggle to make the playoffs.

You're right of course. I tend to think of journalists with respect I don't accord columnists which replaced the actual definition as I thought of it. :)

I have disagree about the sucking though. His schtick is to stir the pot. He does this very, very well and I don't doubt his employers find this to be a huge plus.
