USC and UCLA, two of the Pac-12's flagship programs, are planning to leave the conference for the Big Ten as early as 2024, and a move is considered imminent, sources confirmed to ESPN on Thursday.
There is still a formal notification process, as the two schools have to let the Pac-12 know their intentions to leave. USC and UCLA also have to formally apply to the Big Ten. According to a source, that process is underway.
Big Ten presidents and chancellors will meet to vote on the addition of USC and UCLA on Thursday at 6 p.m. ET, sources told ESPN.
I joked in another thread in one of the other forums that we will soon have one big national conference with multiple regional divisions. Teams will primarily play within these divisions for division championships but will play teams from outside their division in the early season during what will be called the non-division portion of the season!-Oregon of the Pac-12 in discussions with Big Ten to join Big Ten.

-For the basketball angle, other speculation thinks that Duke and North Carolina will eventually join Big Ten.
