QB Flip Possibility

Agree. Drake has shown flashes, but in no way should he had the starting job locked down next year.
You’re delusional if you think anyone not named Drake Lindsey has a shot at starting next year.

As for Kollock, he’s the 4th string QB, which should tell you something, looking at who’s ahead of him at 2nd and 3rd string. Hopefully, things click for him in the offseason. I wouldn’t be shocked if he transfers.

You are correct that if Drake is on the roster next year he is the leader in the clubhouse to be the starter next year because he will have a full year of starting under his belt and multiple years in the program.

But you are delusional if you think there is zero chance he could be beaten out for the job. The good news for us is that based on what we have seen from Drake this year, if someone does beat him out they must be a really special player because Drake looks like he is going to be really good.

Drake has been up and down which you would expect from a freshman. Next spring as of right, now those two will be competing for the starting job. It'll be interesting
There isn’t competition just like Morgan — Drake is our guy come hell or high water unless he’s injured. Not complaining I like the kid I’m just saying…

Stop.

How often does a team demote the starting QB from the previous year?.....doesn't happen very often....however I am pretty sure Brosmer committed before Athan transferred out, but that would imply Fleck was Ok with not just handing the job to his starter from the previous season so must be wrong there.....

Drake is almost certainly our QB next season because on nearly every team when the starter from the previous season comes back he is the starter the next year as well. But that doesn't mean they can't be beaten out, it would just take something really special to do it.

Oh I absolutely think he will be the starter. I just don't think it should be handed to him. There should be competition at every position.

If a top end transfer QB wanted to come to MN (I know not gonna happen) PJ would say no thanks if it would make the team better?

Kollock 4th string because he graduated from high school early and was only going to redshirt with older QBs on roster. He will absolutely leapfrog 2 and 3, he’s not 4th string due to ability

He enrolled early I'm sure he thought I'm a true freshman he's a redshirt I can come in and compete and then reality set in. Again, I hope he stays and waits his turn but that's just not the expectation anymore, probably why they are trying to flip another QB for 26. You don't take two QBs in a class without expecting some departures
I think QB depth is going to be a challenge for every program. Offensive skilled-position guys (QB, WR, RB) want the ball in their hands and they'll likely figure out after a season (red-shirt or not) whether they are going to get the ball enough and make their decision as to stay or transfer.

As for Bergeron, he's only "excited" about the offer and not "blessed."

Sounds like they are in good shape to get this guy. Early enrollee. Hendryx might take another visit or two.
