Christian Triplett, a 6-foot-3, 270-pound junior from Delano (MN) High, is one of the top players in the state in the Class of 2014. The younger brother of former Gopher Nate, has help lead the Tigers to a good start as they are ranked tenth in Class AAAA. Gopher Hole recently caught up with Triplett to find out the latest on his recruitment.

Gopher Hole: You are off to a good start after losing the second game of the season. What things are you working on to improve yourself as a team?

Christian Triplett: As a team, our composure and staying together and doing the small things.

Gopher Hole: What college camps did you get a chance to attend this summer?

Christian Triplett: I just came here to Minnesota.

Gopher Hole: Your brother played at the University of Minnesota and in the NFL. Is he someone that you have always looked up to football-wise?

Christian Triplett: He has always been my big brother. He has always been the one I have looked up to.

Gopher Hole: What are your hopes for playing college football. Is that something that you have always wanted to do?

Christian Triplett: I want to come and play here (Minnesota).

Gopher Hole: What positions are you playing for Delano this season?

Christian Triplett: D-tackle and tight end.

Gopher Hole: What things did you work on this summer to continue to improve yourself as a player?

Christian Triplett: Get stronger and bigger.

Gopher Hole: Has it been tough for Nate because he has bounced around a lot with injuries in the NFL?

Christian Triplett: It has been a little tough. Bumps and bruises.

Gopher Hole: Do you play any other sports at Delano?

Christian Triplett: Football and baseball. I play first base and pitch. (The Tigers finished 20-8 and won the Class AA consolation title).

He wants to play for Minnesota...so long as he doesn't get a Michigan offer.

Westonka just gave his squad a big scare in their first round playoff game.

Met Christian once. Big kid. He'd look great in size 16 maroon and gold cleats! lol

I heard half the Delano team is suspended for drinking...Not sure if Triplett was one of them.

I believe it was 5 total. And Christain was not one of them.

Based on the above two quotes Delano must be playing 9 men football since half their team was suspended.

Even if he was it won't matter if you wanna play at the U. You can drink AND drive if you play basketball. ;)

I have looked all over, and no where in the media are there any reports of this. So I guess that "I heard..." and "I believe..." makes it all official after all. :banghead:

Oct 4:

"The Tigers were adjusting to the return of nine players who were suspended for two games. The proper adjustments were made the two prior games resulting in wins despite missing six starters."

Triplett was not among those suspended:

Sept 20:

Delano played short-handed on Friday after nine players, six who started games, were suspended for two games for violating Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) conduct rules.
“I felt the entire team came together and responded to adversity,” said coach Merrill Pavlovich. “The older and experienced players supported the replacements. Our strength going into the season was depth and it proved to be valuable on Friday.”
Several players had to work on both offense and defense, including Zach Checkal, Ben Ditty, Andy Rieder, Christian Triplett, Adam Kraft, Aaron Klaers and Dalton Danielson."

I hope this kid turns into an All American at Minnesota. Could be huge as a DT. I like what is being posted about him. I really liked Nate too.
