Sorry guys, these are really choppy. Was getting distracted many times when typing, so please, chime in with any other tidbits you picked up on.
• Today, I want to reiterate my commitment to the University of Minnesota
• I'm deeply disappointed. Sexual harassment at the U of MN will not be tolerated. The U takes this issue seriously.
• We'll search nationally for a new athletic director. This is the action of a person that made a bad decision, not of #Gophers athletics.
•
• Did female coaches address concerns to you (didn't catch this whole question)? There were coaches that expressed concerns, specifically track.
• I'm not going to give any details about the incident, because the U has a primary responsibly to keep the confidentiality.
• This is the 1st report on Norwood Teague that the University has received.
• It's important that the people that brought these complaints forward remain anonymous.
• If you met Coach Kill, you'll see that he wants to move forward.
• No knowledge of legal action that these women are taking upon the U of MN.
• There is no severance package for Teague, he is offering to offer his services on an hourly consulting basis. He may have knowledge of the donor relationship. His hourly rate is $285/hour.
• 3 months of Cobra because it's a medical issue.
• Teague is the face of Gopher athletics, I'm not minimizing that, but it's one man, it does not reflect the culture or an athletic department
• This was a bad night, and I asked him to get an alcohol assessment and manage and event. If you have an event like that, you need to look at what you're doing more personally.
• Would he have been fired? If he hadn't resigned, the investigation would have gone forward. There would have been findings with a recommendation for discipline, and possibly a recommendation for termination.
• I'm not going to give the details of the event, if this happened at an University event.
• I'm working hard to articulate the importance of confidentiality.
• The details of this, are just that, and if you piece together enough details you'll be able to find out who they are.
• We had 2 complaints they occurred on the same night.
