Predictable PJ

I mean he says the same crap every coach says. I dunno why people get worked up about that.
Because there are fans that truly believe they are more invested then the players and coaches in the success of the program.

So they listen to the press conferences and get pissed off because even though there isn't a damn thing the coach could say after a game like that that would make them happy they will still get pissed that the coach didn't find a way to say that impossible thing.

He needs to up his game. He needs to have syers who are as highly disciplined as Iowa's players. He's not doing that now. It was obvious from the lack of preparation.
So should he just not talk?

Can't you grasp the responses are bullshit each and every time he and his teams play like yesterday?

Honesty would go a long ways.
What should he say?
He said it was unacceptable at halftime
I’m not sure anything will make it better

What "honesty" are you looking for? I mean I think Fleck is at PEAK for his coaching trajectory. He's going nowhere...no one will take him unless its a step backwards. SEC? Give me a break. I live in SEC country, they run coaches out of town with winning records. Unless NIL money suddenly comes flooding in...this is what we will have. Talent cures a lot of the coaching perceived flaws. We are VERY limited in that area.

Unacceptable. No shit Sherlock.

He’s probably done all one can at Minnesota for all practical purposes. There could be a lightning in a bottle season but most likely MN will continue to be an average b10 team with him here. Worse if he leaves

I'm stuck in a rut of doing the same things repeatedly. I coach scared at times. And these things lead to poor performance from my teams.
I don’t think any of those things are true.
Yesterday inexperienced coordinators got out schemed on scripted drives. 10-0
Interception for a touchdown 17-0
Punt return touchdown 24-0

yesterday was more on coordinators being worse than iowas and lines being worse than iowas

What part of yesterday makes you think it was fear?
If fleck had more confidence the OL wouldn’t be overwhelmed?

Yesterday???

🤡🤡🤡🤡

History tells us a story. Intentionally ignoring history and only focusing on yesterday tells a lot about you.

So you have no answer. Got it.

Gophers came out throwing yesterday.
In the first half 6 called runs, 15 called passes.
There were a lot of problems yesterday. I’ll wait for you to point to some evidence of fear being the primary issue.

6 of the first 9 called plays were passes.
2/4 and sacked twice.

The issue is the lines + a freshmen QB + coordinators not good enough to overcome those facts

Annual ass kicking by Kirk is the answer. You simply choose to ignore it.
It was an ass kicking.
Not sure what I’m ignoring

What we disagree upon is the reasons for the ass kicking. You think if fleck was less scared we win.
I don’t think that was the reason. Agree to disagree

Fleck has actually had a lot more success vs Iowa when playing conservative compared to when playing aggressive.

The conservative games are when it’s close late. The aggressive games is when the gophers dig a big hole. Only once have they been able to dig out of a hole and make it close (2019).

PJ has developed a very good program at the U. He gets good players and develops them (as noted by how many are playing in the NFL). His players very, very seldom get into trouble and they all put their heart into the game. The program is filled with players of good character and they are very competitive in most games. They have speed and physicality that is at the B1G level. His teams would crush most of the teams fielded by the U over the last 50 years!

Will he win a B1G championship at the U? Most likely not. And that boils down to money, not coaching. As Iaazrakit says:
I'd rather find Minnesota's answer to Indiana's Mark Cuban...
I know that many of you will not agree with me, but I would rather have the U at its currently level instead of a program that tries to win at all costs. Catering to the whims of a few mega-donors that want to control the program.

Back to Iowa. Iowa is Iowa, they have teams that just keep coming out of nowhere and keep improving. Ferentz is borderline crazy and there is history of player abuse, racism and recruiting violations in Iowa. They have our number, but I would not want their systems.

It came down to this: they came to play, we didn’t. Just the reverse of the Nebby game.
Agree.
I was actually more surprised by the Nebraska game than the Iowa game.

Iowa is a good team. Watching Purdue and Rutgers games a good team could get up early and then not let us come back. And that’s exactly what happened. Was hoping that the Nebraska game was the beginning of a trend. But I think it’s an anomaly and the Iowa, Purdue, Rutgers, cal gophers are more accurate. Which means we gotta pull out close ones vs Michigan state and northwestern

Wisconsin will be close if they don’t quit, will be a blowout in our favor if they quit.

By "they" you mean if Wisconsin quits, it will be a blow out, right? I'd love to still be able to blow out Wisconsin if our team quits on the coaches.

Yes I mean Wisconsin.

I think if Fickell is still the coach we dominate them
I think if Fickell is fired before Nov 14 I think we dominate them.
It’s if it’s the first or second game after a firing that worries me
