Predict the Score Thread: NW State at Minnesota

This is what the score should be. If they give up more than 3 points I’ll be worried… also probably negative to yardage rushing.

I’ll second that 55-0
Illinois beat Western Illinois last week 52-3. That kind of blowout reinforces the fact the Illinois is ranked. PJ has some kind of aversion to blowing out demonstrably lesser teams during non-conference play. He doesn’t like to run up the score. I believe that is why, in the early going, we don’t get ranking votes. We don’t pulverize lesser teams on the scoreboard, leaving some question as to whether we could run up the score.

NW State is red hot winning one straight game

but, gophers 49
NW State-0

We played that very same Western Illinois team in 2022 and beat them 62-10 so I'm not too sure about that.

Same thing with Maryland. On the All-Big-Ten site Off Tackle Empire they refer to September Maryland and October Maryland. September Maryland beats the hell out of bad teams and makes some people think that they might be really good. Then October Maryland comes around and extinguishes those thoughts.
