Predict the Score Thread: Minnesota vs Virginia Tech in Duke’s Mayo Bowl

I just read Noel Thompson's "5 questions" thread with a VA Tech beat writer. Yikes. the writer is estimating that, due to injuries, opt-outs and transfers, VA Tech will be missing 13 of the 22 players who started the last game of the regular season.

so I am revising my prediction:

Gophers 30
VA Tech 13

(and that is based on this notion - Gophers get a lead throwing the ball in the 1st half, and they mainly run the ball to eat up clock in the 2nd half.)

Gophers are currently favored by 9 but ESPN’s FPI predictor gives Va Tech a 51% chance of winning. Someone please explain this to me.
ESPN FPI does not model opt-outs, injuries, or coaching departures. It is backward-looking based on performance to predict future outcomes.

Gophers 84
VT 13
With the Gophers scoring 3 throwing Td's in the last 5 minutes just to show everyone we can be bigger pricks than Lane Kiffin.
I think he went to HS school here. But thank God he wasn't born here.
Guess where he was born? Score is clue.

Minnesota 56 VT 3. Defense gets 6 scores, including 3 by Perich. Feeling a little left out, Brosmer volunteers to play Free Safety in 4th quarter.
