Predict the Score Thread: Minnesota at Illinois

Bad guys 24
Gophers $17

Ironically, I have been a huge supporter of PJ's since he began. But the NC and IA losses changed that for the first time. This is the type of win that will win me back.

So, the USC, UCLA, and Maryland wins didn't do anything for you? I know the UCLA win margin wasn't that impressive but, at the time, that was only something like the 3rd win in 13 attempts in the conference by a team traveling 2 or more time zones.

Yes they did but only further exacerbated the IA and NC losses. Like I said I was a HUGE Fleck fan from day one even when many weren't on the bandwagon. But I have seen way too many game day decisions that have made me waver. The damn broke against IA. However, maybe Fleck has FINALLY learned from his past mistakes. A win against IL here would get me back in his camp. This is the type of game the Gophers ALWAYS lose.

Illinois 30
MN 24

If the Gophers win this one I'll pick them to win every game the rest of the season.

Illinois 31
Gophers 17
BB stops our short passing game and our running game isn’t successful with no blocking up front.

I’d be pretty shocked if Illinois manages 30+ against us.

1Q: Minnesota 7, Illinois 7
2Q: Minnesota 10, Illinois 14
3Q: Minnesota 17, Illinois 17
FINAL: Minnesota 27, Illinois 20

The final will be:
MN...36
IL......20

PJ goes for 2 on the last TD late in the fourth because that's what the card says!

Seems like on some big games where we think we have a shot of winning and a score like this will occur.

Anyone want to make the odds on Fleck doing an opening kickoff onsides?

If Jah Joyner is healthy, Gophs 24-21.
Otherwise, Illinois 27-24.

Finally beat Beliema. Dragan shows up to play hitting 3 FGs and the game winner.

Gophers 23
Illinois 21

Keeping Altmeyer contained and win the TO battle are the keys. IMO he is the best we have faced will face all season. The D has to play its best or we get a L.

Gophers 28-24

Like Sam Jacobson hitting the game-winning runner at Assembly Hall in ‘96 (Lou Henson’s last game), the “Dragon” connects from 42 yards on the last play for a 24-23 win.

We finally found our offensive identity.
Our defense now seems to be holding its own.
PJ finally takes down the great pumpkin.
Gophers 31
Illini 24
Everything you said but score. I think Gophers by at least 2 scores. 31-20

Gophers 31 and Illini 28. Gophers finally eke one out against Bielema at the end.

We have a serious case of PTSD here 😆. I like Altmyer but this doesn’t seem like a great Illinois team. Going off game results, casual viewing IL probably doesn't have the playmakers. MN does, PJ and new look Gophers roll

MN 40
IL 13
