POST GAME THREAD: GOPHERS DOMINATE HUSKERS!! WIN 6TH STRAIGHT VS NEBRASKA!!!!

Great win. However, when you see comments like this on Huskerboard you worry the world might be spinning off its axis. Even in the worst games under Frost, Husker fans would refuse to praise PJ. Not tonight, there was virtually no $hit talking tonight, but mostly praise.

Is there still something special brewing in Lincoln?

I like the fact that the Gophs ran out of the I formation a lot. This is actually a pretty decent pass blocking line. Drake was clean all game. Contrast that with Nebby’s OL. Our OL had been searching for run game competence. Had to have it to beat Nebraska as convincingly as we did. Maybe we keep running some plays out of the I. Adds a blocking wrinkle and sets up the crossing pattern as MLB must commit to the run. I would love to see this team motorboat Iowa in similar fashion next week. Go Gophers.

27 pickers picked Nebraska to win in Pick'ems out of 45. I think though they are all happy that the Gophers won tonight.

I'm pretty sure if Danny Collins sleeps on the air mattress again and dials up another 9 sack performance versus Iowa we will beat them too! Two victories in a row on the road versus Iowa would be very sweet!. 1 and 9 in the last 10 tries. Gotta get that to 2 outta 3.

I agree, but it will be tough to replicate against Iowa. Their defense runs against an I formation and quick play-action pass offense every day in practice. Regardless, I loved it tonight and look forward to next week!

The Gophers haven't looked menacing this season but it's late October and they are tied for 3rd place with USC in the 18 team mega Big Ten. That ain't bad.

I think they looked pretty menacing tonight - at least on defense!

The offense took its time to get going but once it got there it was more than effective enough.

I think Rhule watched his Penn State dreams circle the drain tonight. It was kinda sad.

Same song and dance like it is every year with this team under PJ. We start off every season like Bowser in the original Super Nintendo Mario kart, slow and sluggish, and then halfway through the season we hit top speed and finally start playing some really competitive football. And just like in Mario kart, we inexplicably hit some banana peels on the way. We were throwing red shells like a mafa tonight, though. 🍻

I've been as critical of PJ as anybody, in regards to his conservative tendencies.

But credit where credit is due...to PJ and the staff and players, that was an EXCELLENT performance tonight, especially in the 2nd half.

Tonight just had a completely different feel. Aggressive, explosive on defense, attacking, dominant, tremendous execution on offense when needed. We thoroughly outplayed them in the trenches. All of it.

Where did this come from?? Honestly.

The line play on both sides of the ball was just on a completely different level tonight.

Jeebus. That's dating yourself (and myself). Playing that game drunk in the barracks until 5am in the morning was a real thing.

I was one of them. Very happy with the win. I believed the Nebbie/Raiola hype. The Gophers played a very physical game up front and won the game at the LOS. DL > DR. Hope Rhule stays there for many years as The Gophers own him!!

A comfortable conference win! What a gift.

I felt a little 2nd hand embarrassment for the field rush, though. Probably not necessary for the #25 team. I know the rest of CFB fandoms will clown us for that one.

Anyways, great win. Keep it up.

I have no idea what they did on defense, but on offense, they ran from formations they hadn't tried all year...as if they saved it for Nebraska.

Defensively.......I'd love to see the all-22 of this game, to get a closer look at what we were doing on the back end vs their passing game. Even when he did have time, which wasn't often...nothing seemed open.

We held them to 2 FG's, and barely over 200 yds on the night.

Nebraska had scored:

27 vs Michigan
38 vs Michigan St.
34 vs Maryland

The play by Kingsbury on the blitz blowing up the back and then dropping Raiola was an AWESOME play. Looked like Urlacher in his prime decided to throw on some college pads. Destructive.

It felt like our defense was on some combination of speed pills and steroids tonight. Just curious why...or how??

Scheme is one thing....but the passion and aggressiveness they played with tonight.....damn impressive.
