Post Game Thread: Gophers Crush NW St

Did what we were supposed to do against an overmatched opponent. Fun to see a lot of the young guys get some reps to see what we have behind the starters. Hopefully the injuries aren't serious and now the team has to get ready for what will be a tough road game against what looks like a solid Cal squad.

When you play helpless teams like that injuries are inevitable. The other team can't put forth the effort to make our players compete against full speed competition. The score looks nice, but would rather not schedule teams like this.
Playing teams like this is almost inevitable. Might have been a guarantee game. Pretty sure that was the case for East Texas A&M playing at Florida State or Grambling playing at Ohio State. (BTW, fun snapple fact: Grambling Louisiana has a population of 5,532 and the enrollment is like 5100 so they're the definition of a small school)

Smith and Taylor hurt.

If hamstring it’s hard to let Taylor play again before the bye, this early in season.

Not sure what Smith hurt.

76 kids played and 9 different players scored.
Thanks. I hope these don’t linger the entire season.

The definition of dominance: two players on our D combined for more yards than their entire O.

Nestor with the 29-yard pick six, and Kinsbury turning the fumble into a 25-yard TD, outdid the 42-yards their entire team gained.

Smith was treated for left ankle but went back in the game. (Saw that in a tweet from Greder)

A laugher; good to see all the backups get some tv time. Liked to see Shik as a viable backup, not sure on Witte. Good looking talent out there even the backups. That transfer WR from Nebraska looks like he could be good. RBs looked pretty good in terms of shake and bake factor but we’ll see. They couldn’t do anything on offense, completely outmanned.

John Nestor - what’s the story on him leaving Iowa? Looks like a great pickup.
