On the RB's, I was encouraged to see several backs being able to recognize that they were running into the stacked side of the defense, and were able to cut back for solid gains. Potts had a couple of those and even Jelen had a nice cut-back run.
With Wiley, he looks more like a straight-line runner, but if he can get to the edge, he has a little burst.
To say "the other backs are not as good as Mo" is a little ridiculous on face value.
Mo Ibrahim was the back of the year in the conference last year. So, by definition, the other backs on the MN team are not on his level. and neither are the other backs on IA, WI, Neb........etc.
That doesn't mean they suck. It just means they aren't on the same level as the best RB in the conference. If Mo gets enough carries this year, he could easily go over 2,000 yards. If the Gophers have a good season as a team, Mo could get a lot of Heisman support. I mean, a Gopher RB wins the Heisman every 70 years, right? So it's time.
