guys because he doesn't want to win, but because of foul trouble.

Here are the full notes. I'll get the players notes up shortly:

Richard Pitino
• Lost to a really good team. Our guys gave great energy today, we just lost to a really good team. Offensively, Andre didn't have it going. We learned from it and move on to another tough game. They don’t foul, they don't turn the ball over.
• I started Nate, more so DeAndre was just frustrated after the NU game and I wasn't crazy about his attitude. As we're moving forward, these young guys need to get reps. Gas made a lot of crucial mistakes, but it's good for him.
• We lost to a really really good team, and a very talented team. Everyone told me WI didn't have talent, but they've got talent.
• What was really tough is the way we started the 2nd half, fall down, turn over the ball twice. I didn't sense our guys were nervous, just doing wacky turnovers. That's why Coach Ryan has won for so long, they don't foul and turn the ball over, that's why they win.
• Gas - I have to live with it a little bit. Joey King, I don't know what he was doing, I couldn’t see it, they switched ball screens. In the 1st half, we didn't turn the ball over much. In the 2nd half, I don't know what was going on there.
• We're still playing to win. Bakary has earned those minutes. I don't think we have a lot of options at 4, so when Joey plays the way he does, you've gotta go with Gas. I don't like those two in the front court together. I like their potential, but they're raw and they're not great at communicating. When you go against the #1 offense in the country, you're going to make mistakes. Joey forced us not to play him. Bakary had some big rebounds.
• I played the younger guys because Joey King was in foul trouble, and we don't have a back-up power forward. I'm not playing young guys because I don't want to win, I'm playing them because of foul trouble. I wanted to see how DeAndre responded after the NU game, and he responded.
• On Kaminsky - he's one of the best players in the country, a top 5 pick. They put you in so many binds offensively. Guy's a pro, he's a lottery pick, it's very hard to guard a lottery pick.
• On DeAndre's attitude - it was more frustrated, with himself, and it was kind of taking over from winning. He was worried about himself and his jump shot, he's a great kid. It's tough with seniors, with guys that they don't know where they are going to be in a few months. DeAndre has a kid now…does he want to go overseas. Hopefully he and Mo can go overseas. My biggest thing with them against NU is that you're allowing your frustrations to trump winning, I don't think they did that tonight.
• On WI - They've got great size, they're like Syracuse, defensively, you can't simulate what they're doing because Sam Dekker is 6'8, and their 1 and 2 are huge. They make you take challenged jump shots. They play perfectly for their personnel. They're a tough match-up.
• If Nate lays an egg in practice, I won't start him. We take stock in practice and see what their attitudes are. We need to keep our seniors fighting.

Josh Gasser:
• We still haven't put together a full 40 minutes of good basketball
• He really blew off his record breaking points today - they've got bigger fish to fry

Bo Ryan said the remaining schedule is the toughest close in the Big 10.

Here are the rest of the notes:

Nate mason
I really can't explain it right now, we just need to fight back and continue to get better.
Coming into the 2nd half we thought we'd make a run, we had to come out and make a run, but those turnovers were big. We just need to pick each other up and keep fighting.
Pitino's halftime locker room message - Come out, keep fighting, we were right there in the game so he really didn't have any bad message for us, just rebound, get back on D, and play.
Every guy in that locker room knows we can beat any team in the nation, we just have to come out performing, and continue to play.
How did DeAndre respond to Pitino not starting him? I think he responded pretty well, he was a good teammate, he picked it up when we needed to score. I think he played great today.
Takeaways for next games? Cut down on mistakes, such as turnovers, turnovers, stopping the shot block and rebounding.
I just felt like we came out too in a rush at the 2nd half, we just needed to calm down and relax.
Preview for next season? It's hard to think about the next season during the game.
When the seniors get frustrated? Coming from a leader, we feel it a lot. I think it's good that Coach set the boundaries and made DeAndre learn, I think he's learned his lesson, in practice he's been great. He's a great teammate.

Mo Walker
DeAndre coming off the bench - I think he came out and gave us great energy, he did a lot of good things, attacking the basket, defensively as well, the pick and roll game he was effective.
On Kaminsky - Early on, he got me a few times on the shot fake, I let him get me off my feet and get to the rim, but later on, I think I adjusted and got better as the game went on at defense.
On getting another crack at Kaminsky: I am excited, especially on the home floor. I know the fans are going to be into it, after the game, we briefly talked and he said "see you soon."
The younger guys are learning and picking up well, gotta give them the court experience or they'll never learn.
We're really focused on staying together as a team, not getting down, and not playing as individuals. Last game, we had some troubles, Coach called us out and said we're playing like we're not a team anymore. This game I think we made a conscience effort to stay together.
It is our job as seniors to keep the team together and keep guys on the same page, Austin Hollins did a good job of that last year, we have big shoes to fill. Andre Hollins is doing a good job, I think I'm trying to be better at that and be more vocal, DeAndre is doing a good job, Elliott gives us great minutes off the bench and great energy, he's always encouraging and supportive.

Style - I thought we played our game, I thought we weren't as fluid offensively in the 2nd half, but that was because of the turnovers. We were fouling too much, and we didn't get to the line as much as we'd like to. Other than that, I think*we played our game and were pretty effective.

I'll go back to what I've said before: Mo is a smart player and a smart and insightful person. He's a coach's soon, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him get into coaching himself some day.

Thanks for the report.

You're welcome :)

He always really gets into the x's and o's during post game interviews, that's for sure. I think he is very bright as well.
