Plitzuweit

This is by far the dumbest thing I've ever read on here.

Should she call them "her bitches" or "little girls" nooo they are YOUNG LADIES. A Young Lady is defined as an individual in early adulthood age. What would 18-22 be?!

Unless this is that Piece of Shit Patrick Reusse coming on the board cause he bitched about it as well.

I've spoken with both parents and the players... they have zero issue with it. So shut up.
As a parent of a former player, we loved it when Coach P called our girls young ladies. It’s a subtle way of reminding them that they are being noticed in the community, that young girls are looking up to them, and that older fans and boosters see who they are and how they present themselves publicly, as well.

I wish Dawn would stop calling her players "young ladies". Who calls an 18-year-od female a "lady"? They are women. It's like Medved calling his players "boys". They are men.
Lemme guess, you’re jealous and wish Coach P would call you a Young Lady 🤷‍♂️

The new deal, which covers the next six seasons through 2031, gives Plitzuweit a raise of roughly 7% to bring her base salary to $900,000 for 2025-26, according to the Minnesota Star Tribune, with annual increases of $30,000. That's in the middle of the pack in the 18-team Big Ten, which sent 12 of them to the NCAA Tournament this year.

Because it wasn’t a realistic goal🤦‍♂️
Well, come on now...on a very basic level Ben didn't get us to the NCAA Tournament and neither has Coach P. And they finished about the same place in the conference standings. So, there is that.
But Ben was given an extension at a similar point as well...so, time will tell. Pretty much paralleling each other so far...including their avoidance of non conference competition to inflate the overall season record.
We kid because we care...right?

And maybe should be a new thread?

Why does it matter in this new age of NIL and Portal Transfers? The emphasis on a coach being there 4 years from now is no longer as important as it used to be to recruits. They are no longer bound to their team more than a year.

On the other hand, it is important to the coach to have some long-term security.

It will be interesting to see how it plays out in the future. Maybe similar to NBA/WNBA coaching contract lengths?

Why it matters?
If Coach P leads the Gophers to the Sweet 16 next year...without that contract she's more likely to leave for more money. (I am assuming if you give her the extension and more money it has a significant buyout as well? ...to help hire her somewhat proven replacement if necessary)

Do not misunderstand, I am for keeping Coach P. But in this new chapter, she will be coaching some (not all) "professional athletes". Maybe promising a 7th grader that she will still be here in 2032 is important? My point was since players can move almost at will, why does length of contact matter as much. And in professional sports, few coaches get 6-7 contracts. Just thinking that there will be a change in the trend as this plays out. And perhaps it will impact football and men's basketball more than women's basketball?

Coach P has her dream job, and is making a ton of money. Don’t think there is much risk of her going anywhere. Glad she is here.
