Well said! We've reached a slow point of the off-season if this is what we're discussing![]()
As a parent of a former player, we loved it when Coach P called our girls young ladies. It’s a subtle way of reminding them that they are being noticed in the community, that young girls are looking up to them, and that older fans and boosters see who they are and how they present themselves publicly, as well. This is by far the dumbest thing I've ever read on here.
Should she call them "her bitches" or "little girls" nooo they are YOUNG LADIES. A Young Lady is defined as an individual in early adulthood age. What would 18-22 be?!
Unless this is that Piece of Shit Patrick Reusse coming on the board cause he bitched about it as well.
I've spoken with both parents and the players... they have zero issue with it. So shut up.
Lemme guess, you’re jealous and wish Coach P would call you a Young LadyI wish Dawn would stop calling her players "young ladies". Who calls an 18-year-od female a "lady"? They are women. It's like Medved calling his players "boys". They are men.
Ben was never given that assurance.According to Darren “Doogie” Wolfson on Skor north. Dawn has agreed to a 2 year contract extension through 2031. If she makes the tournament this year she gets an additional year to 2032.
Because it wasn’t a realistic goalBen was never given that assurance.
The new deal, which covers the next six seasons through 2031, gives Plitzuweit a raise of roughly 7% to bring her base salary to $900,000 for 2025-26, according to the Minnesota Star Tribune, with annual increases of $30,000. That's in the middle of the pack in the 18-team Big Ten, which sent 12 of them to the NCAA Tournament this year.
Well, come on now...on a very basic level Ben didn't get us to the NCAA Tournament and neither has Coach P. And they finished about the same place in the conference standings. So, there is that.Because it wasn’t a realistic goal![]()
Why it matters? And maybe should be a new thread?
Why does it matter in this new age of NIL and Portal Transfers? The emphasis on a coach being there 4 years from now is no longer as important as it used to be to recruits. They are no longer bound to their team more than a year.
On the other hand, it is important to the coach to have some long-term security.
It will be interesting to see how it plays out in the future. Maybe similar to NBA/WNBA coaching contract lengths?
Coach P has her dream job, and is making a ton of money. Don’t think there is much risk of her going anywhere. Glad she is here. Why it matters?
If Coach P leads the Gophers to the Sweet 16 next year...without that contract she's more likely to leave for more money.
