Our field goal kicker lost us two games alone last year. So have we taken care of it this year?. Fleck says our new senior transfer kicker is unreal. Whats his track record? Never even attempted a field goal at Michigan. We are banking on him? Or is newcomer Daniel Jackson that good that we dont need any help? Well if he is that good he should have been kicking last year. Come on Fleck and new special teams coach. Take care of the problem or its like we are starting the season with two losses already figured in.

This was a glaring weakness last season. Can’t have a Big kicker who is inconsistent beyond 40 yards. Hope 1 of these guys steps up .

Our new special teams coach has a good/long track record. Maybe he will be able to bring some consistency to the position.

What two games did our kicker lose us last year?

I am a little surprised Fleck didn't bring in a proven kicker to battle Jackson. I agree that Fleck must either no something about the Michigan transfer most don't know or he really believes in Jackson. I agree, that needs to be a very high priority this SPRING.

Arguably Northwestern and Cal could have been won with good placekicking.

Our placekicker went 0-1 against Cal in a game we lost by 13.

I agree that NW could have been won with better placekicking. We also won 3 other games, partially due to a placekicking advantage. Purdue, Michigan State, and Rutgers were one score wins with the below kicking stats:

Minnesota: 4-6
Opponents: 4-9

I also want better placekicking, but I think some folks need to appreciate that we were really good (or lucky) in one score games last year.
