PiPress: Carlos Morris gained 10 lbs since arriving in May; "tremendous passer"
per Marcus:
– After starting summer workouts on June 16, the Gophers are beginning to see the potential impact of newcomers such as junior college transfer Carlos “Squirrel” Morris. Squirrel is expected to take the place of senior starter Austin Hollins, who was the MVP of the NIT championship in April. The 6-5 Morris has shown his commitment to getting his body more prepared for the rugged Big Ten by gaining more than 10 pounds already since arriving in late May.
A source told me this weekend that Morris was “playing great” and proving to be a “tremendous passer.” He’s also really starting to build chemistry with Mathieu, a fellow junior college transfer. That’s a good sign since Morris, Mathieu and Andre Hollins are the Gophers’ probable starting backcourt trio for the upcoming season.
