Perich, Abasiri & Pretzlaff Watch

Right now, there's almost no non-committed recruits in California that are ranked as high or higher than him. There aren't many DL in general ranked higher than Abasiri, committed or not committed.

So you go from California ..... to Minnesota. That's the next state you look at? Not ... like Arizona? Or Texas? You go to ... Minnesota, for a 3*, to fill it out.

What I could buy is that they asked Entz if he knew of anyone up there flippable, when they hired him, and I assume NDSU tried to recruit JA early on before he became a 3* level recruit.

Then he will get a ratings bump because he committed to a helmet school. The recruiting sites make more money when the helmet schools are ranked higher in the team rankings because their fan bases are larger and buy the most subscriptions.
Buy this all day.

Guarantee he'll get suddenly upgraded

Nebraska is the prime example. They have had 4 stars and top 20 classes every year and have fielded some of the least talented teams in the big ten most years. Several examples in the sec every year also. Rank them high enough to stroke the fan bases ego and collect $$.

Lets war game the Perich situation.

He goes to the Gophers. Parents drive 4-5 hours down to watch home games, along with other family members. Travel to away games. Probably gets playing time from the get go, at least on special teams. Student athlete pays for his parents hotel/meals out of his nominal NIL. Great educational and employment opportunities in the home state, particularly if he doesn't go NFL.

He goes to Buckeyes. Parents drive 15 hours down to Columbus or fly from Duluth or MSP to Columbus. Other family members??? Travel to away games in PA, West Coast, East Coast. Open question if he gets any playing time from the get go as the Bucs are rich in safeties. Student athlete pays for his parents hotel/meals out of his richer than MN NIL. Good institution but ??? about employment in Ohio if he doesn't go NFL.

If he has questions, communicate with Cashman and Coughlin before the 20th.
Can this kid not work in Minnesota or any other state in the union with a tOSU degree? Is there an accreditation issue?

I mean come on. Ohio State, Florida State … Minnesota?

How many times does the same movie have to play before the ending is known before it even gets there? Not going to waste any sleep over it
I’d agree on the surface it’s not a competition. Anoint the only thing I could think of why one would stay if’s a quicker route to playing time and if there was really a connection with the school and/or coach. Which I have no idea if that is the case

Agreed, people are making this seem like USC singled out abisiri as a "must get" prospect. What likely happened is the coaches told an intern "we need a DLineman". Intern goes on a recruiting site and sees who is uncommitted or who they could flip. Intern contacts 20-30 of those prospects he found and sees who is interested. After finding out who is interested, the coaches "maybe" watch a little tape then offer him saying he needs to visit to make the offer official. He visits, and USC makes him feel special and tell him they wanted him this whole time. Abisiri buys what they say and commits. Then he will get a ratings bump because he committed to a helmet school. The recruiting sites make more money when the helmet schools are ranked higher in the team rankings because their fan bases are larger and buy the most subscriptions.
He got bumped to 89! you called it!

From … Minnesota??

How many 3* are there in Cali that they could’ve had?
If USC was the gold standard of spotting can’t miss dlinemen they wouldn’t have had such a shitty defense the last few years.

Do brown paper bags get handed to players from coaches?

Asking for a friend.

Are you workshopping your comedy routine here on GH? Time to come up with some better material, because this sketch sucks.
