GopherHole’s Nadine Babu caught up with Seantrel Henderson’s parents, Bree Jasper and Sean Henderson, last night. As the #1 football recruit in the nation, the Henderson’s are fielding anywhere from 10-30 phone calls a day. They were kind enough to take time out of their busy schedules and fill GopherHole readers in on Seantrel’s visits, Tim Brewster’s in-home visit, what 3 schools he’s debating between to take his last visit to, and what they like about the 8 schools that are his finalists, Ohio State, USC, Notre Dame, Iowa, Miami, Florida, Oklahoma and Minnesota.
This is Part One in a two part series, Part Two will be an interview with Seantrel himself, and will run on GopherHole.com tomorrow.

Great job once again Nadine. Looking forward to Part 2 tomorrow!

Great Job.

Favorite answer by far

GH: You took an unofficial to Iowa recently, how was that?

Sean: We’ve also taken many unofficial visits to Minnesota.

Thanks! It's funny - when CDuff was proofing this interview - he asked if that was a typo? I was like, no, that was verbatim how they answered the question. Granted, they knew they were talking to a Gopher website, so I'm sure they wanted people to know that he took unofficials here too - so I wouldn't look too much into it, but it was still funny.

I loved the answer that they love LA because Seantrel can have a better chance to be known worldwide! Give me a break! Do you think people outside the college football world care about some big OL from Minnesota. I would love for him to come to Minnesota but going to USC or Florida would more than likely be better for his career. Please just don't go to a Big TEN school!

No chance he comes here! I just hope he doesn't go to a Big Ten school. Seantrel coming home for the USC/Gophers game next year would be a classic!

NFL scouts are crazy. If you are good, they will find you. It doesn't matter where you are or what you do, you will get a chance if you deserve it. While USC and Florida will get you more attention with the rest of America, I doubt it will get you more attention in the NFL. I highly doubt a guy like Studwell for the Vikings is sitting around on a Saturday afternoon hoping that USC and Florida offensive lineman are playing well on TV.

To prove it, last year the first 3 offensive tackles were from:
Baylor (#3 overall pick in the draft) (U has a better program)
Alabama (better than the U)
Virginia (I would say comparable to the U)

oh boy

"going to USC or Florida would more than likely be better for his career" Not true, ask Jerry rice or Lawrence Maroney or maybe Barber.
"No chance he comes here!" Don't be so sure. This is not a kid or family that is misleading anyone. I believe Minnesota is the front runner, and unless something goofy happens, he comes here. To turn it around, if the NFL is in his future along with a good education, why would Minnesota be counted out? The education is solid and the NFL will find you no matter where (this is an NFL city) and your family and friends can watch you live 7+ times a year. keep the faith.

They sure talked a lot about USC/LA -- which backs the theory that he's going there a la 'visits were all USC games'.
