Other games thread

Sjsu played Stanford better than asu is. Does that mean we are better than the 22nd ranked team in the US?

I love Stanford and the game the play. I even more love the fact they keep beating Oregon. Arizona St. is a pretender. They should have lost last week too. Stanford has a good enough team to play for a title...

Indiana's D doesn't look very good. Looks like we'll be able to run all over them.

Stanford has that game won. I had paused the Indiana v Missouri game, so starting that up now. Missouri is driving right down the field on the opening drive.

Indiana going with chrome helmets and candy cane striped sleeves.

Ohio State says hi.

Whoops...yeah, guess I forgot about the ACTUAL best team in the B1G, haha!

Speaking of very average teams (IMO), I'm not at all impressed by Michigan. First the scare last week, and now losing at half to UConn -- who already has 2 losses. Having watched ND the past two weeks, I'm not real impressed by them either, so that makes one of Michigan's wins even less impressive. Seriously, the trend of the B1G just being generally down a bit continues. I don't think MInnesota is a great team, but the conference is so even this year. If we play mistake-free football (like we pretty much have been), we can steal a win or two against the likes of Mich, Neb, PSU, MSU, etc. Not to mention games I believe are probably toss-ups, such as Iowa and IU. Should be a fun year!

UConn up 14-7 on Michigan at half time. Might be a fun 2nd half...

Wow, I completely forgot about the Michigan game until just seeing the highlights. Crazy they're down at half. I'm starting to wonder if our game @Michigan might be winnable.

Check this out - crazy:

I didn't even know that was possible.

This just in: Indiana and Missouri set world record for most butt ugly uniforms on an athletic field at once.

Wow, that's crazy! I wonder if they had discussed it before the game started at all. The spread on that game was like 57 points...and I think it actually started over 60. I hadn't even seen a spread that big.

WOw...MIchigan fumbles on their opening drive of the 2nd half and UConn houses it! This could be fun...

Rutgers beat Bert and Ar-Kansas. Sweet!!

Man, UNLV up 31-0 on Western Illinois in the 3Q. WTF was going on with us last week? The first three quarters were...um, not good.

Missouri pummeling Indiana, Hoosiers have absolutely no defense. Sudfeld benched after throwing three picks, including a pick six right before half.

Michigan struggling with UConn, Gardner off-day. Huskies driving with four to go, down by three.

UCLA having a bit of trouble with NMSU.

Yeah, that matters.

Rooting for Mich to stay undefeated until we get to Ann Arbor (and us too, obviously). They seem ripe for the plucking as a ranked team for someone halfway decent to come in and knock them off.

Another ugly win for Mich.

I've never heard of shortening the quarter, but it's not unheard of to change the rules in a blowout if both sides agree. I remember one game where the teams agreed to not stop the clock when the runner went out of bounds.

Is there a specific rule that allows the rules to be changed if both sides agree, or is it just something that no one is going to complain about? I'd prefer to take those last three minutes and give some playing time to the bottom of the depth chart, the players who might never get into a game.

I haven't read this whole thread so sorry if this has been talked about already. But is it safe to say that so far, the most pre-season overrated (by the media) player is Devin Gardner and team is Indiana? The media was salivating over Gardner and Indiana before the season.

Gardner is a great athlete but hasn't shown anything that he will be a great QB. Indiana can score but, good God, is their defense awful.

I think a close loss to Ohio State last year put Indiana on the media radar and it is taking a lot of bad football to get them back off.
