Would really like to see Illinois up the tempo on offense. South Carolina seemed very off balance when they’ve gotten on the line faster

They have to address the defensive subs walking off the field trying to burn the play clock.

Illinois is a big user of that bs strategy.
Not really sure there is a solution other than tell defenses they aren’t allowed to sub.
You can’t legislate the speed of the jogging off

If they have another 9-4 year, is he gone? I wouldn't be surprised. Finebaum will probably retire as well.
His contract is 90% guaranteed so that’ll be a wild buyout if so. Think he gets 3 years no matter what unless it’s a complete implosion and sub .500 year

I think you just set the amount of time to sub. Ref stands on ball for 10 seconds post and that’s the time you get or something to that effect

You absolutely can.

Let the teams know they have 5 seconds, and then the ref will back out and let the play progress, and throw a flag for offsides, or too many players on the field.

That would clean it up very fast.

So you just agreed with me and said they aren’t allowed to sub

He did not.

You get X seconds after the offense subs for the official to delay the offense and allow defensive subs. After that, you are free to continue to substitute but you do so at your own risk.

And that Illinois play was egregious. They brought guys on and the same guy came back off the field in favor of someone else. The intent of the rule is good, that was manipulation of the rule.

Just saw the Michigan - Alabama results.

Sometime the universe just does the most hilarious thing.

All that complaining after the first-round blowouts to result in this. What a stupendous waste of time lmao

the bielema subs are just so fucking painful to watch. like it's clear he tells them to do it. rule certainly needs to be rewritten as it's every single game that teams burn at least one timeout on a substitution and the slow trot off the field (amazing how much faster the guy gets on field and lined up versus off it; total shocker and clearly not being used for an advantage)

Good games today. Washington/Louisville is coming down to the wire (after a sketchy PI call on 4th).

Illinois and South Carolina has been a solid game too. Hoping Illinois can pull it off.

Shane Beamer may be the biggest douche in the college football ranks.

Also....Washington touchdown and going for two for the win. Failed.

Admittedly I'm way, way out of touch as to Shane's tactics as I haven't had a chance to watch much football today. But what I just witness with Bert is absolutely horrible. Something has to be done in the off season. This isn't good for college football in general. He is teaching his kids basically to screw the rules.
