It has begun. And how better to kick it off than by saluting the veterans with a matchup between two 6-6 G5 teams (South Alabama vs. Western Michigan) with a bunch of opt outs in the Saluting the Veterans Bowl in Montgomery....or Birmingham or something.

South Alabama freshman kicker misses a 22 yard field goal after their real kicker opts out.

West Virginia is getting drilled by Memphis. They should be embarassed.

West Virginia is coming back. I'm not a fan of this Big 12 football where its 64-62 at the end of the game.

Lots of points in the late night coffee bowl. WVU has a quick QB. Memphis is just bowling over WVU's defense. Rich Rod groveling is kind of funny.

What an awful bowl. Late night on a work night Tuesday more than a week prior to Christmas. Blech.

West Virginia must be thinking that getting run over by 400 pound TD-scoring ball carriers on a slippery baseball field is more fun than this.

Man, I'm hyped. I love this 12 team format. Seems like the sweet spot for getting the right number of teams while keeping the likelihood of competitive games high. Offers the opportunity to see the big name programs and some underdogs. Gonna be great.

Weekend Slate: Great football weekend.
Friday ND and Indiana on ABC

Saturday
NDSU and SDSU at 11am on ABC head to head against SMU and Penn State on TNT
Montana State and South Dakota on ABC head to head against Clemson and Texas on TNT
tOSU and Tennessee on ABC 7pm

A 6-6 team without their head coach should be embarrassed by being down to the #25 team?
The way they were playing was embarrassing. They were getting rolled early. They came back and had a respectable game. It was game one of bowl season. The better games are coming.

The Frisco Bowl ended up being a pretty exciting game. Lots of fireworks in that one. Two more games today....with the Boca Raton Bowl starting at 4:30 CT.

Sure a sparse crowd for Western Kentucky-JMU game.

Now that it’s here I’m pretty excited for the first ever semi-inclusive college football playoff.

The curiously seeded Notre Dame (maybe for the NIU win…oh) hosts the upstart Hoosiers tonight in an interesting matchup. Kinda feels like the Hoosiers could take this one straight up but what do I know. If they can upset Notre Dame, then they get a Beckless-Georgia, then a fun Boise State game if that bracket plays out nicely.

I will be a big Hoosier fan tonight. I give them about a 25% chance to win, but I hope they do. Really looking forward to the game.

Should have been unsportsmanlike for taunting weapon or not. They're pretty clear that you can't direct stuff at other players regardless what it is.
That was impressively embarrassing from the defensive player.

Though he did have 13 sacks this year so maybe we want him pulling out the bow here

Carson Beck will not play in the playoffs more than likely.

I hope coaches embrace that attitude more. Let's have fun.

Silly play times!
I think they titled the video wrong, that's not a shovel pass. More of a chest pass. Now I can't have fun with it.

I like the idea the coaches went to him and said "uh ... no you're going to throw it this way ..." didn't want him worrying about his spiral, just get the ball there.
