FAU’s going to be a tricky game to start the season. Up 28-14 at halftime on SMU. They return a lot next year....Taggart obviously struggled at FSU but has had a lot of success at the G5 level. Gotta imagine that program won’t miss a beat.
 


Is it just me...do the numbers on the FAU jerseys look like duct tape?
 


Honestly, seeing FAU up 42-14 on SMU makes me a little nervous about next year’s game.

Do some digging. He took over dumpster fires at Western Kentucky and USF and completely turned them around. A lot of Brohm’s success at Western Kentucky can be credited to the foundation laid by Taggart before him.

Western Ky transitioned to FBS, it was not a dumpster fire. He benefited from not being the transition coach. He had one good season at USF, and was HC for its worst season.
 

FAU will be a live opponent next year, in the recent Gopher tradition of scheduling deceptively tricky, no-brand non-conference games. Kiffin gets a lot of crap but he did a really good job there and for the first time in his coaching career has earned his job at Ole Miss.

True, but they lost Kiffin.

But on the other hand, I'm sure he recruited a lot of talent there (relative to what they normally get) and not all those guys are going to evaporate into thin air when he leaves.
 

Turned on the Gasparilla Bowl (UCF vs Marshall) game and the field is in fairly bad shape. It’s being played at Raymond James Stadium, the same field we’ll be on for the Outback Bowl. And just three days before we play, the Buccaneer’s are hosting the Falcons. I hope they can get the field in good shape by the time we play.

For fall football, they host the Bucs, USF plus two bowl games. That’s a lot of football for grass and you’d think they would go artificial.

They are on like their third or fourth string QB. Still no excuse for that offensive showing.
 

I think the coaches at the Quick Lane are wearing auto mechanic shirts...not kidding.

The biggest hub-bub about the game apparently was a fight at the end, where the EMU QB accidentally punched a ref!

I always root for EMU's program. People tried hard to kill it off, after some dreadful seasons. But the school said no, and the current HC has had some level of success. Tough to win there.

Wake Forest looks terrible. Granted I only saw the 2nd half but they couldn't do anything.
 

This Oklahoma State Game looks like fun.
 


A&M not doing themselves any favors early.
Turnover to start the game that OkSU can't capitalize on. Zero points.
Then A&M again ready to score and fumbles it in their own red zone to which OkSU answers with 7.

OkSU gets stopped on last drive and a horrible shanked punt sets up the A&M score to get on 14-7.

Entertaining game at this point.
OkSU is going to be airing it all game it appears to show A&M what Big 12 football is all about.
 

Looks like MSU really shut down WF in the second half.

MSU's last 4 possessions of the game all came while up 27-21, all entered WF 30 yard line.
All 4 the came away without points. (Last one they downed the ball to end the game rather than run it in).
