Other B1G conference games 2025-26

Gophers win in Iowa looks more impressive today after Iowa handles Michigan easily, 62-44. 24 turnovers for Michigan. 24 points for Iowa's Heiden.

All games out are must win for Ohio State. They are not going to win out.

USC HAS THE TIE BREAKER WITH IOWA!

MADNESS!

USC HAS THE TIE BREAKER WITH IOWA!
USC may have the tie breaker over Iowa, but USC has already lost 6 Big Ten games and Iowa has only lost 3, with 2 games remaining in the season for them. There will be no tie in the Big Ten standings between USC and Iowa so that doesn't matter.

I see, USC cannot catch Iowa no matter what to tie break. Yea, I see now the record you are talking about.

SHOOT! I didn't realize Ohio State was this viable IF THEY WERE TO BEAT HIGH RANKED MICHIGAN -- A SIGNATURE WIN.

Unlikely but if Ohio State beats Michigan:

Projected SeedTeamFinal Conf. RecordImpact of Michigan Loss
1UCLA18–0Clinched #1. Unaffected by other results.
2Iowa15–3Moves to #2. Becomes the clear second-best with 3 losses.
3Michigan14–4Drops to #3. A loss to Maryland and a projected loss to Ohio State on Feb 25 would give them 4 losses.
4Ohio State14–4Moves to #4. If they beat Michigan on Feb 25, they tie Michigan and could take the #3 or #4 seed based on tiebreakers.
5Minnesota13–5Stays #5. Just misses the double-bye behind the 4-loss tier.
6Maryland12–6Climbs to #6. Moves up by securing a signature win over Michigan.
7Michigan State11–7Stays #7. Solidly in the middle tier.

HOWEVER IT IS LIKELY TO BE THIS:

Projected Seeding Tiers
The tournament features the top 15 teams (out of 18).
  • Double Bye (Seeds 1–4):
    • 1. UCLA: Already clinched at least a share of the title; expected to finish #1.
    • 2. Michigan: Likely to hold the #2 spot.
    • 3. Iowa: Expected to maintain its lead over the middle pack.
    • 4. Minnesota: Currently #4, but must fend off Ohio State in the final week.

  • Single Bye (Seeds 5–9):
    • 5. Ohio State: Just one game behind Minnesota.
    • 6. Michigan State
    • 7. Maryland
    • 8. USC
    • 9. Washington

  • First Round (Seeds 10–15):
    • Teams like Illinois, Oregon, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Purdue, and Indiana are currently in this tier.
    • Note: The bottom three finishers (currently projected as Penn State, Northwestern, and Rutgers) do not qualify for the tournament.

I'm not afraid of a Gophers showdown with Ohio State. Trap teams are nullified by Minnesota's defense built to stop scoring off turnovers. GOPHERS ARE #1 IN NCAA IN LIMITING OPPONENT TURNOVERS.

I more fear fast transition teams like Maryland.

I simply want Minnesota to host the NCAA tournament.

Anyway it all comes down to one thing: get one signature win in the Big Ten Tournament and then hosting. Maryland, Ohio State, win that one game, host.

Would be easier if Minnesota had the double-bye but cannot avoid the showdown game the Gophers have to win to host.

Win first game as double-bye is host. Win first two game as a single-bye, host. Gophers cannot flop out of the B1G Tournament.

We control our destiny

Extreme danger games coming up. We will assume Gophers beat Illinois.

If Maryland defeats Michigan on the road and Ohio State is upset by Michigan State, Minneaota may have to face a dangerous Maryland in the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals.

Keep an eye on the Maryland and Ohio State games.

Any of our three potential opponents for our first Big Ten tournament game will be dangerous, but so are we. My money is on it being us versus Ohio State, but it could also be Michigan State or Maryland. All are capable of beating us, just like we're capable of beating any of them.

You are probably right.

I have too many past memories of Maryland throttling Minnesota.

But like you say they all are dangerous.

Iowa is back into glide.

Pressure is higher to beat Illinois.

Iowa only won by 4. Not much room for error.

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- — Ava Heiden scored a career-high 28 points and No. 9 Iowa overcame Illinois’ second-half 3-point shooting to win 82-78 on Thursday night.

The Hawkeyes (23-5, 14-3 Big Ten) won their fifth consecutive game and extended their home winning streak over the Illini (19-9, 9-8) to 13 games.

Nebraska post-season on the line in Rutgers game Saturday.

Nebraska currently projected as last team.to sneak into tournament but must win next two.
Would like to see Nebraska win a couple here. They're sitting at 26 in the NET. Hopefully a couple wins could bump them back to a Quad 1 win for the Gophers and help our résumé for a top 4 seed.

Watched the Illinois @ Iowa which was entertaining the watch. Illinois is starting to play really well for especially how young they are. Basically starting 2 Fresh, 2 Soph, and a Junior with a 1 Soph and 1 Junior off the bench. May explain their slower start, but Minnesota is going to have a big challenge come Sunday.

Seeing all these other big 10 teams be able to develop Freshman year after year, make me hop coach P doesn't go away from Christian in the rotation for at least 7-10 minutes on Sunday like she has in the past 2 games. Think those minutes are key for rest and key for the program.

Should be a fun game! Rah!

Tournament like game and atmosphere, Illinois playing for a single seed, Gophers playing for a double seed. Let’s see how Gophers react. Iowa pounded in the paint, hoping Gophers if they follow suit can finish at the rim. That seems to be their Achilles heel in their losses this year. Go Gophers!

Illinois will never shoot 3s again like they did against us so you should win. It was ridiculous and uncanny going for 9 for 9 in the second half.

Gophers had one of their best 3 point shooting against Iowa as well. Could be Iowa’s defense? I don’t think the Hawkeye Zone was very effective

Ohio State coach Kevin McFlopped slammed by fans. 3 losses in 4 games skid as NCAA tournament committee hears loud "flop"

"Kevin McGuff needed to switch out Bryn Martin for Kylee Kitts during fourth quarter, overtime"

Ohio State coach under pressure
  • Feb 15: Lost to Maryland (76–75).
  • Feb 18: Lost to Minnesota (74–61).
  • Feb 22: Won against USC (88–83).
  • Feb 25: Lost to Michigan (88–86)
November 2025 fan survey showed a split in confidence, with 12.3% of fans giving him a 1-out-of-10 rating

Sentenced for drunk driving case.

Dublin Police arrested McGuff in May following reports of a car driving recklessly through a yard and hitting several curbs.

Losing Taylor McCabe was kind of a factor why the Hawks lost 3 in a row. Jan had quite a few coaching blunders in those games. Just like the Minnesota game the Hawks got off to a strong start and fell apart. I think the Illinois game was a let down after the Michigan game. It happens. As far as all the 3s made that just doesn't happen. They made them no matter what. Hawks don't play zone very often and I'm sure they did that to try and save energy. We'll see if Wisconsin can hit 10 for 10 in a half. If possible it'll be against the Hawks.
