Here is a chance for you and/or some one from savegopherfootball to justify your actions.

I'm sure there is a good chance you check out this website.

GH: What was the reaction to the article?
AK: I got calls from AD’s across the country saying ‘wow’ that they couldn’t believe Joel would do that.

GH: Which AD’s contacted you?
AK: I told them I’d keep that private.

LOL riiiight.

Just another reason to fire Joel. I do not condone SGF's actions. This shows how much Joel has screwed things up that a group of former football players is working against him. He has lost the team just like Chilly.

"I wanted a voice" "We want to help"
Translation, we want an equal say. Well guess what Mr Kelly, you can't allow 100 people to have a say. It would take a year to come to a consensus. Every school goes about a hire the same way. You just don't want Joel making the decision. And while I agree with that, he's the AD. The president wasn't firing him right now. Your choices were to accept the process and support it or act like a total jerk and try to sabotage the process to make the guy you don't want making the decision to look bad. You chose to harm the process to spite Maturi. That's something a 10 year old would do, not a grown man. I also think you are lying when you say that other AD's contacted you. That just doesn't make any sense. I doubt our ADs were contacted when schools had interest in Mason or other coaches. There is no cardinal rule. Sure you don't want to lose a successful coach, but it's a free country.

Adam is just like Joel. Every time he opens his mouth he sounds worse than before. This guy is a major tool.

And don't let this group fool you, all they wanted to do is push Marc Trestman!

the guys heart is in the right place, but he went about it the wrong way. It seems to be "My way or the highway" with him. I sure hope he lets his ex customers chose his new clients for him. they would seem to know best, being an ex customer and all.

Kelly: Why wasn’t Karl Mecklenburg in on the process?
GH: How involved and how often does Karl get to games?
Kelly: What does that matter?

This sums up my biggest issue with the group. They throw out a bunch of names of former players that they want involved in the search, but at best many of the guys know little about what is going on, and, more importantly, have not been active - especially in showing public support for Gopher Football. So how are we as fans, and moreover the athletic department, supposed to want hold hands together with these guys during the process?

Chances are a bunch of these guys don't even still live in the Twin Cities or the State of Minnesota. I guess that doesn't have to be a qualification, but it just shows how distant these former athletes can be. Not all of them of course.

Doesn't this just scream of a player (punter/kicker) who is still trying extremely hard to gain the approval of his fellow players? Maybe he should realize he was a punter and nothing will change that in the minds of his teammates.

This guy is more full of sh*t than a septic tank.

Moreover, he has no idea what he's talking about.

Lastly, (sorry to rip off your line, Studwell) - punter.

Yikes. Thanks for the interview, now please let him disappear into obscurity.

I listened to him on the FAN yesterday...he sounded just as ridiculous on the radio as he did in your interview. Adam Kelly should just stick with selling over priced insurance.

The best part of the interview:
GH: Did you contact any other schools besides Temple?
AK: Just Temple. I also talked to Mike Leach?

GH: You reached out to Mike Leach?
AK: Yes, he’s a friend of mine.

GH: You two are friends? How long have you know each other?
AK: We’ve been talking on the phone for 3-4 weeks.

Hahaha... AK you're a *&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!#! Do all "real" gopher fans a favor, give your tickets up and watch the games at home.

If I were the U President I would ban him from all Gopher athletic events.
What a Bozo.

Adam Kelly is probably about the last thing anyone should be worrying about at the moment. The guy is desperate for attention and people keep giving it to him.

Kelly's big opportunity via the interview to help us understand why he did what he did....and he shanks it!. What a tool!

Not to pat my own back, but Gopherfaith and I go to every luncheon and banquet and we don't recall seeing any of these guys or remember them ever being pointed out. Usually, someone identifies all players in attendance. We donate a grand or two a year to the program through either direct gifts or the Goal Line Club, not including the season tickets.

What do they do, exactly? Show up for the games? Complain a lot? Live off past glory?

IWe're just a putzy Gopher football junkies and we probably support this team more than they do. It's what you should do...
