I was at that series and remember it well. What people forget is that the day before he went 4-5 with two home runs as well.

The Puckett games in Milwaukee were what had me thinking winning the AL West was a real possibility. Plus they acquired the veteran bat of Don Baylor shortly thereafter.

It prompted me & my friend to plunk down $60 for an AL Championship Series strip, got tix in the 1st row of LF. Pretty good deal $15/game. I think normally it was still $4 up there for a regular season game, maybe $5.

I was at that weekend series. After getting shut down Friday night, the rest of the series was a blast, and it began feeling like we had something special brewing.
