Die Hard Gopher fan… look at the name Roland Brooks says it all… just tell it like it is…
He’s growing into it. In year 8 we may have 7 big ten wins.Yeah, it’s possible the Pitino’s asst is not what we hoped. Oh well
Yes it could be worse they could dodge the local low major D1 team…. oh wait…
Or I could be like someone on here and blame the refs every game… maybe refs hate UST as well …We'll just call that 21 point Fighting Roos loss a good loss then.
I am sorry fellow Holers but Holereader sat through that shit show that night and he is extremely frustrated with this team , it’s coach and the direction of the program. I have tried to find some glimmer of positivity but after tonight holereader is at rock bottom. Henley cannot play at this level - sorry kid but you are in way above your head and why he is getting minutes is beyond holereaders fundamental basketball acumen. Purdue had three freshman play significant minutes tonight and were poised , quick afoot and accurate shooters and passers. What frustrates and confuses holereader after seeing this is we are supposed to wait for our freshman to develop into saviors while Matt Painter already has three freshman playing at BIG level. Can someone talk holereader off the ledge - he is not sure he can sit through any further incompetent performances like this any more
Just need NPOY to make our freshman look good! Or a preseason All-B1G player not to look like the worst player on the teamI am sorry fellow Holers but Holereader sat through that shit show that night and he is extremely frustrated with this team , it’s coach and the direction of the program. Henley is a hot mess.

Gotta think that Battle was in bad shape with his back tonight. He probably should have sat this one out and we live with the others playing.Just need NPOY to make our freshman look good! Or a preseason All-B1G player not to look like the worst player on the team
What year is the gopher basketball program in? How many years has UST been in D1? How many guys on the U roster are D3 players (a few)? How many are on the UST roster (50%)?We'll just call that 21 point Fighting Roos loss a good loss then.
Please jump. Are you seriously trying to find a silver lining in this? They clearly were not playing full throttleElite Purdue has averaged 74.4 points per game.
Minnesota held Purdue to 61.
I think you might have a sock drawer you could rearrange - go to the barn some night and actually watch the incompetence of this team -Please jump. If you wish, perhaps my response can push you over the ledge.

You do realize that everyone we play has freshman vastly outperforming ours.A) You realize that Purdue is the third ranked team in the nation....right?
B) With Carrington out (as well as Fox and Ihnen)....Henley had to log minutes. That's just how it goes when injuries force things. Henley isn't ready.
You are accurate. Our average at best freshmen may progress, they also may not. But other elite programs have freshmen who are playing big minutes (who are not 1 and done freshmen), who show the monumental gap between what we have and what other programs have. Purdue is a perfect example: Loyer and Smith will improve and be with Purdue for the next 4 years (unless they transfer - not NBA players). Do we really believe our guys will catch up… that’s crazy thinking.I am sorry fellow Holers but Holereader sat through that shit show that night and he is extremely frustrated with this team , it’s coach and the direction of the program. Yeah, Purdue was only up like 20 at that point. We played good thoughYes.
Halftime scoring for Minnesota was atrocious but held Purdue too.
Any win in year 2 is good. Any loss is expected. Half their roster is D3, they have 2 D1 transfer who rarely play (most likely because they couldn’t play at their previous schools * Milwaukee and liberty) and 5 recruits who were for D1 (four of which are freshmen. We'll just call that 21 point Fighting Roos loss a good loss then.
Carrington didn't miss a shot all night. Had zero turnovers.Henley looks brutal
Carrington was blah
And Payne concerns me because he has no shot, and is probably about as big and physical as he will get. Is he going to get a ton better.
Everything is horrible.
Payne has a chance to develop into a really good B1G player. He has the size and athleticism to overcome limited offensive skill. You are accurate. Our average at best freshmen may progress, they also may not. On the telecast the announcers were discussing how Purdue rarely gets top recruits, but Coach Painter gets guys that fit the Purdue vision and style of play. And then the Purdue brain trust grows the shit out of those players over the next few years. What the hell is the Gophers style of play and how do our recruits fit it?
Best game all yearCarrington didn't miss a shot all night. Had zero turnovers.
Richard Pitino ain’t walking through that doorWhen does Thorson rescue the team?
