***OFFICIAL PENN ST AT MINNESOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

My fucking Lord, these reviews have to go. That was an obvious call on the court. There is literally nothing you could possibly see in either angle that would make you a question or change it. Yet this thing is going on for now like two straight minutes. What the fuck are we doing here?
And the clown announces that there was nothing conclusive on the replay.....are you freaking kidding me??? Yeah...conclusively went off of PSU

Did we even lose if this means PSU stays top 75 in the NET and we keep a Q1 win?!?!

It may not be "official" for a few weeks, but CBJ is 100% gone. Yet another abysmal showing against a terrible team at home.
I 100% say Ben is back.

This is Minnesota Sports we are talking about here, and specifically, the U of M.

Disgusting loss....please let this be the final nail in the coffin.
The final nail was pounded in a while ago.....team has been playing better but not at a level that would change anything job wise for Johnson. He is going to get fired, it just isn't going to happen until the season is over.

Feeling down about the lost today?

Just remember there is only one option moving forward for the Gophers men’s basketball program and you will feel better. 😉

If anything, the inexplicable inconsistency does not reflect well on the coaching staff. A team that can sweep the west coast like they did shouldn't come home and lay this kind of egg. The Vikings under Jerry Burns were like that. He was more of a sideshow clown than a pro head coach.

10-42 for Garcia, Mitchell, and Patterson......good lord.....even just mediocre shooting from those 3 and we win this one easily. Very frustrating.

Yeah, but other guys were better than usual. Can’t just improve the guys who played bad and everyone else plays above average.

Everyone who got those promo tickets and gift tickets from season ticket holders must feel really good about the program now.
They've had better crowds than they deserve the last two home games. The Gopher fan base is resilient.

Fans focus in on individual games......ADs have to look at the whole picture.

sub .500 in conference again
nearly full roster turning over again including the loss of almost all the offense from this year.
apathy in the fanbase

We have had a handful of nice wins but that won't be enough to change anything big picture wise. Change is coming after the season. There is no way Coyle can sell running it back with Johnson again next year with a whole new team. The barn will be even more of a ghost town than it is right now.

Correct. Uphill battle trying to sell another rebuild in year five.....when the first one didn't even manage to produce a single NCAA tournament bid (despite having probably a top five Gophers player this millenium).

This is a backbreaker. We were on thin ice, we put ourselves in a position where we needed to play damn near perfect ball to make noise so it shouldn't be too surprising, but damn, it sucks to be in such a bad spot where one bad loss can crush your prospects so badly.

They were well past that point due to the non con Ben put together. But yes now it’s officially win the btt or you’re done for any preseason play

True. 8-12, 16-15 seems like the best case scenario now. That won't even get an NIT or Crown bid.

I wonder who Coyle has lined up for us. Josh Pastner? “Oy, such a nice Jewish boy!” 🥸

The backbreaker was last spring when Johnson was retained for this season. They weren't in any kind of position to "make noise." That was always just fanboy nonsense.
No prospects were crushed today. Just a continuation of the inevitable dismal, slow march to nothing that has always been the case.

Why no Edmund’s in the rotation or Betts for that matter. A basic 6 man rotation(Fox not that many minutes) can’t hold up game after game down the stretch.

Yeah, I have the same thoughts. Frank Mitchell can be good at times but he's hit or miss depending on the matchups. I don't think Johnson should have closed the book on Edmonds and Betts. The fact is that we don't have a truly reliable center or even power forward (other than Garcia who has his issues occasionally too) so I think you have to keep the options open.
