***OFFICIAL NEBRASKA AT MINNESOTA SEASON OPENING IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

He started Athan over Tanner last year. I don’t think PJ is playing favorites.
He only did so after our ceiling had been determined. Some would say he made the change after 'it didn't really matter' but I believe the end of last season DID matter....and we finished strong (with Athan). It just seems (from a fan or 'outsider' perspective) that we could have raised our ceiling by making the change at QB earlier. By the time PJ made the 'decision' to 'start Athan over Tanner last year' the 2022 season already had a ceiling (which would not include a CFP appearance, a Rose Bowl appearance, a Conference Title, or a great Bowl Game). At that point, why not make a change and see if the ceiling can be raised this year?

Digging PJ's shades. Little bit better than the capri look......

Holy shit! This passing ability is unreal. Nice catch Spencer. Nice way to evade the sack Athan.

You can’t compete in the Big Ten generally running 21. I get him on third down but this running game is terrible so far today. The concern about the OL seems so far somewhat legit. I’m calling again for 1 and 26.

I’m nervous about the running game. Someone talk me out of it.

Tyler seems like he’d do well in space. Either with outside zone or the quick pitch they did two years ago. Maybe they’re trying to save that for later in the year. Or get the OL comfortable with inside zone first.

Lots of offense for 3 points. You have to finish!!!! Looks like a strong sneeze and Tyler goes down.

The old Minnesota fan in me says, since they missed the field goal, its automatically a nebraska TD.

I need to change my best

I would like to talk myself out of that.

Gophers playbook, incomplete pass then run for a yard or two then hope to convert on third down.
