Instead of complaining of the injuries and being shorthanded, Niko has developed a team to beat 2 top ranked opponents and get a gutsy comeback W on the road. The development of Grove and Shinholster have been impressive. Hopefully recruits are taking notice!

Fun not having to watch the shot clock not wind down to 5 seconds to be the 6th defender for the opponent every offensive possession.

Hate to rain on your parade but lets not put too much lipstick on what could have easily been an Iowa delivered pig. The Gophers were up 14 pts with 6 minutes to play, and but for Iowa missing 3 wide open 3's, they would have blown this game. So let's not get over our skis.

Iowa literally was playing iso the whole second half, launching 3s (props for making them).

Refs were awful to us first and Tyson and Asuma had to sit in the bench because of it. Asumas block was a thing of beauty.

They favored us late which was nice as we were in the bonus.

Officiating was bad both ways IMO.

Officiating is always bad in the big 10. They hire amateurs to officiate their football & basketball games. When you have a physical game like that and one team shoots twice as many FTs as the other you take it and smile.

We’re 3-1 with a shell of a squad. Two of those wins are against likely tournament teams, and one was on the road. We still get Penn State, Maryland and Rutgers!

It’s not even about the W. It’s the fact that if Niko has a few more players, it could be the best era of gopher basketball since the 90s.

Wow. Smile. Have fun. Yes, they let them back in the game but they were going to make a run. You can also look at it like they had an amazing response with a 5-0 run after giving up the lead with just over a minute left. Most teams in that situation fold. Great coaching job, great defense, moved ball well to score just enough. They are doing this despite losing two starters, and a likely projected starter in Omot. Get over your skis and enjoy it.
