IU it was to close the first half.
Michigan it was to open the half..

too many open looks.. why does Dre leave appling to double down on NIX... bonehead.

Yes I think or thought anyway that we had as much talent as Ohio state and mich st. Harris was at 70% and trice didn't play I'd say we have as much or more talent. They have a better coach that coaches them up as the year goes on.

They have much better guards than we have, Thomas is better than any player we have no chance we have more talent then the buckeyes
 




why doesn't Dre go to the rim anymore?
isn't that what carried us in the NIT?
somebody's got to press the issue and take it to the defense.

My family has had gopher tickets for 38 years I go with my father to every game. I own a business on campus. Family is important to me as well as my career but I also love gopher hoops. Always have always will...just expected more this year

Missed FT's. Unforced turnovers. Poor offensive play. Sadly, seems to be happening more frequently.

Also, almost every team we play seems to shoot the lights out from 3 lately. I don't what they should do either I guess. :(

My feeling is that Ryan, Izzo, and Painter are killing Big Ten basketball. They turn a beautifully athletic game into a wrestling match. They call it defense, but its just clutching and grabbing and clogging the lane with so many weight lifters that there is no driving or athletic plays.
Painful to watch.
 

It seems like every game at least 1 or 2 of our players are in a funk. Tonight was Austin's turn to struggle. Season high turnovers for Austin, usually our smartest player. I guess you have to credit their defense too.
 

How long will it take for Tubby to realize we can't use an all bench line-up. The bench averaged .53 points per minute, the starters averaged 1.55 points per minute. That's a huge difference...

They shoot lights out from 3 because we leave them wide open from 3.

I agree, you have to have scoring from the bench.

I know, it is just frustrating to watch as nothing seems to be done about it. That's what I was trying to say.
 

We seem to do well early season non-conference, not so well in the Big Ten.

Is Tubby's 'system' not suited for the Big Ten?
 

we went into trevor on the fist possession of the game.
that was it.

probably coached all week to 'go down low to Trevor'... one and done.
the weave along the 3point line for 20 seconds each possession is a killer..

this team needs to push the ball when they can... instead the pull it out.. they play to their weakness.

All of us love gopher hoops...some of us will wait until the season is over to determine if tubby should jump into oncoming traffic. I don't know how you could have put us higher then the top 4, it doesn't make sense to me. Continue with the end of the world debate I'm going to grade some papers and go to bed while hoping for a win next game.

Andre is struggling at the point right now to create anything. It's really hard to figure out what Smith is doing with this offense and I've been watching it for 6 years now. There is just nothing happening there and nothing looks easy.
 

We need a 2nd point guard, someone who can run the floor, and get people open. Mav and Julian are not the answer. 2nd group did ok and starters came back with energy. The 2nd group could not score, because Mav was running a circus out there. Elliot and Wally deserve more time. Can anyone imagine get 2 minutes to prove yourself at work with no 2nd chance like Wally. Elliot and Wally brought energy play them let them get into the groove especially when other guys shots are not dropping .

I agree. I am trying to understand what tubby is trying to do on offense as well, I just have no idea what that is.
 

Austin play really cost us this game. Up 5 and lets up two wide open threes can't fall asleep if you want to pull off an upset.
