*** OFFICIAL MINNESOTA-MICHIGAN STATE IN-GAME THREAD ***

Good half for the Gophers. I can't see MSU going 4 for 5 from behind the arch in the second half. However, we still get caught watching the paint dry when we are forced into a half-court offense. We need to move the ball in our offensive sets and get that good open look. Overall, however, we're playing a solid game.

I'd like to see Trevor back in more and take the shot whenever he can. Msu may match up well but even if he misses (and doesn't get the call) it opens it up more for the shooters. Plus he plays tough enough that it takes away the msu swagger they get when they are banging.

we are 63% from the field and only up by 1?... hopefully our FT shooting and depth pay off

8 TOs, MSU shooting 83% from 3 are the reasons it's close. Our bad free throws have been offset by their bad free throws. If we close out on those outside shooters more and take care of the ball, we can get a bigger lead again but we gotta see if it happens. We looked scared for the last 4 minutes.

Good start to the half, get some rhythm and momentum going again.

We were playing extremely well for the first 16 minutes, then the offense went stagnant and MSU hit some 3's. Ball movement was very good early on, good dishes around basket resulting in a lot of good looks and "easy" shots. Last 4 minutes, lots of jump shots.

Thanks Gopher07!! I appreciate it! I will look at the GH thread as I can for 2nd half updates!

Man, two point game right now I see. 46-44. Been this close the whole game?

37-25 was our biggest lead. MSU closed the first half on a 14-3 run, 39-38 halftime. Now 51-48 Gophers lead with about 16 to play. MSU outrebounding Gophers by quite a bit on their end this half. Turnovers continue to haunt. Need to stop giving Sparty the easy baskets.

We just can't pull away from these guys. Frustrating.

If you're going to foul someone make it a good one

that foul by andre on the half-court inbounds play looks pretty stupid right now.

We're giving them too many 2nd+ chances. Bad defensive rebounding.

just started watching in the second half, have the refs been letting MSU get away being that physical underneath all game? it looks like there were 3 clear over the backs without calls in the last 2 minutes

Yes. Has been a very physical game all day.

I wouldn't expect MSU to just go away. It'll probably be kinda nip and tuck the rest of the way. We just need to do enough to keep them at bay, which we've done well so far.

The next time the Gophers get anything close to resembling home-cooking in an important Big Ten game at the Barn will be the same as it has for the last decade: never.

Need to make a run and put this one away. Such poor play last four minutes of half. Tighten the bench and finish them.

Turnovers, turnovers, turnovers. Ugly. We're getting outhustled right now.
