*** OFFICIAL MINNESOTA-FLORIDA STATE IN-GAME THREAD ***

Good win for the Gophers. Florida State isn't a very good team, but the Gophers did what a top-25 team is supposed to do against a team like Florida State.

Austin Hollins compared to Quincy Lewis? You know Lewis averaged over 23 ppg his last year with the Gophers - it's a long way to that from dribbling the ball off your foot for turnovers.

Yeah Austin sure is a TO machine with his one on the night and 1.3 per game on the year...

This was a nice win on the road against a good Florida State team. I wouldn't say that FSU isnt good team like OSU fan did....... a win like this on the road is more impressive than the win against a ranked Memphis team on a neutral
court in my opinion.

Why the sudden change to Troll Mode? You used to be a pretty solid poster.

FSU won the ACC last year, started the year ranked but dropped an early stinker. They are a good team that the Gophers dominated on the road as 5 point underdogs at the end of a long road trip.

Florida State lost to South Alabama at home earlier this year - if you're a great team, you don't lose games like that. If you think FSU is a great team, that's your opinion. I don't think they will finish in the top-50 this year.

That being said, I said the Gophers played well, and did what a top-25 team is supposed to do against a team like FSU.

I'm not sure anyone was accusing them of being a great team. Many, many posters said this was a good win, and you seemed to take offense to that.

Florida State lost to Harvard and Princeton last year and went on to win the ACC.

Teams sometimes lose to teams they shouldn't lose to. If you don't realize this you must be new to college basketball. They won't win the ACC this year because they have a lot of new faces but I'd be surprised if they don't make the tournament.

No one said they were great. You said they weren't good. It was a dominating road win against a solid team in which the Gophers were vegas underdogs.

I said FSU was not VERY good, which is the same as saying they're not great. I said the Seminoles aren't a top-50 team, towards the end of the year we will have to revisit how good of a team they have. At this point the Gophers deserve a top-25 rating.

fsu will be somewhere in the 3-5 spot in the acc, they are an average major conference team.

Indiana looks good. Wow. UNC is over rated, still a work in progress.

Yeah, kinda crazy, I know some considered this game to be the premier matchup of the challenge, due at least in part to the names North Carolina and Indiana, but this could end up being the most lopsided game of the challenge. UNC was beaten pretty soundly by Butler, and Indiana is putting a beatdown on them.

I think the connotations of saying a team is not great, versus saying they are not very good are different. I would agree that Florida State is probably not great, but saying they are not very good, to me at least, makes it sound like they will finish more toward the bottom of the conference.

Terrible no call on the basket interference there.

If this is the one I'm thinking of... I was yelling at the TV for clear offensive interference (and the announcers were questioning it too). But I rewound the DVR and watched it in slow motion. Turns out the FSU player didn't actually touch the ball. Our player (don't remember who) slapped the ball when it was sitting on the rim and knocked it in.

I saw that too. It was our guy who knocked it in. There was one earlier in the game that was missed however.
