***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT UCLA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

I hope he does. Crazy that he went to the draft camp after his Freshman year and is still in college all these years later. Odukale didn't score, but we relied on him heavily to handle the ball.

Call in show highlights:

Old guy calls in and says this was the worst free throw shooting he's seen and he's been watching since Wooden (though he acknowledges Wooden had some bad free throw shooters). Finishes his call by yelling about someone (I assume the UCLA AD) letting the Pac 12 fall apart.

Old woman calls in and suggests Cronin have a late night slumber party where the guys have to shoot free throws and they can't go to bed until they hit 10 in a row.

Another fan mentions how small and dead the crowd was and that Minnesota fans were making more noise even when they were down.

Any of this sound familiar?
Wonder how many called in to mention how the refs always screw us over, we're normally talented enough to overcome it. It's not just Gopher fans, everybody's fan base is convinced the refs are screwing them over!
:)

But it’s true for us! 🤔

I tried, but just couldn't do it. Fell asleep on the couch watching.
your time management was off-- I took a nap watching Payne and Texas A&M, woke up at half-time of the Badgers game and was too wired to sleep after the Gophers win. The popcorn and coke at 10:30 might not have helped the sleep situation, and someone forgot to tell the dog my plans, so 5:40 came pretty quick

First off, no one can be blamed for falling asleep. Last night's game was a contest in watching paint dry. Ultimately the maroon paint dried just a bit faster than the blue paint.

I did my part by not watching which is showing itself to be a key indicator of success this year. I’ve not seen a win live all season long and witnessed the two biggest stinkers of the year in the Washington and Ohio State games. I’ll see what I can do the rest of the season.

I had a helluva time unwinding and falling asleep after that one. Probably dozed off around 1:30...but that was totally worth it

First half was rough. Was thoroughly entertained in the second half though watching our guys cut the lead, fall back some and then just keep on coming until the eventually got it done.

We did. It was too close to leave early. UCLA fans were absolutely stunned at the end of the game. They walked out like they didn’t know what happened. It was hilarious and glorious at the same time.
The wife and I drove over from Vegas and I’m sure glad I did. Fun second-half the UCLA fan next to me told me I was bad luck when the game got over he couldn’t believe they lost.

Watching a guy go off for 27 points in the 2nd half on 10-15 shooting while his team comes back from 17 points down is like watching paint dry??? Damn……SMH

We went out to dinner with friends. Had a big beer. Once home, got ready for bed, laid down on the couch watching the earlier game, got a nap in. Woke up, brewed an espresso, and watched our game. I feel like this is a prototype for how to handle the new Big Ten.

What a Gopher-like loss by UCLA. Ten missed free throws in the second half and a questionable charge call that goes against them.

But give the Gophers credit. Garcia is playing like the player of the year in the conference and this team could have quit the last two games but didn't.

This feels a lot like last February.
He missed the shot on the charge call which was the right call

Very gritty, unexpected win mirroring the USC game. Just fantastic to beat UCLA on their home court AND get to listen to Cronin's petulance, passive aggressive attacks on his team and fans. As a MN fan, you have to enjoy these rock fight wins and accept the crushing off night losses. Schedule has winnable games down the stretch!

I have a garage full of costume jewlery… uh, uh, bright, gold, shiny things to trade you.

Will accept, land, buldings, vehicles, in exchange.

I want to thank everyone who participated in the game thread last night. I couldn't watch it live due to a very early morning arrangement.

Instead of waking up to check the box score, I had only THIS THREAD open in the web browser and set my alarm 10 minutes earlier to comb through.

What a ride it was

Highly recommended.

We can safely include UCLA in the comatose, awful home court crowd group. That was pathetic.

USC, Maryland, Iowa, and Penn State have another member!

We appreciate your nonsupport support

To be fair, the 1st half was like watching the paint dry, and I was fighting the Sandman. I think the Gophers had 4 shot clock violations in the 1st half. Maybe just 1 in the 2nd?

They were stuck on 12 pts until only 5:09 left before intermission, down 17. In my head I was thinking if they don't cut it to 10 by Half, I was going to crash.

They got it close, 11 so I decided to stick with it going to the 2nd figuring I could bail if they didn't make it interesting.

Well they did make it interesting. #warrior.

That's what former UCLA great Don MacLean (one of the announcers) kept saying last night. "This is turning out just like Saturday's game." "They keep hanging around and hanging around. The longer you let a team hang around the more they think they can win."

I enjoyed MacLean on the color comm for the last 2 games, he's pretty decent.

Give me him over Bardo 10 times out of 10.

Yep. The game is greater than the one. We could just as easily be saying Dawson scored 27 and we lost. The game was a showcase in slow motion basketball. The maroon paint beat the blue paint in dry time.
