SISU is much deeper than just persistence. There is no direct translation for it in English.

Like I said at the beginning of this thread, the boys had to tap into SISU and keep fighting. What a great win over Michigan State and a coach that is used to condescending comments when he beats the Gophers. It's so nice to finally make him walk away with a loss.

-I think every coach in this league is thinking (f***, this Medved guy is the real deal). I don’t think any team in the league with the injuries we’ve had could fight like this game in and game out.

This was 100% a gameplan W!

More than any Minnesota team I have seen since Clem, this team just does what they are supposed to do on both ends. MSU tries to score on the break and we never let them- just as they were coached to do. You almost never see a team win when they get our rebounded by 16 boards- they just had physically no shot against MSU on the boards, but they did everything else they could to win.

There are going to be some really good athletic kids that come up out of Minnesota and Medved might not take some of them because he is going to take kids that won't break the system down.
This is going to be an amazing run.
 






Fears is very dirty. Even Izzo was mad at him for the swipe across the head of Reynolds late in the game when he took him out.

Tyson & Crocker-Johnson ends at 4:00 and Niko comes on at 7:00.
 

One of my favorite Gopher hoops teams ever!! They play so disciplined on both ends, have been so close, and are playing so short. Wish we could see what they could have done with a healthy roster. Future is bright with Niko!

We are actually 3-2 against Izzo in the last five meetings at Williams Arena.

Izzo spent a lot of time talking about Feers in his post game. Can tell he is very frustrated by his antics, talked about not starting him in their next game to try and get a message through to him.
 

Ooph, just finished watching. This team needs to learn how to close out games and hold onto a lead!

Great win to get off the losing streak! It’s fun when they are hitting the outside shot, it just makes everything else so much more fluid.

Great, great post.

Considering what we saw early in the season, for Durkin to be functional on defense--much less, impressive--is difficult to believe. It's a triumph of coaching.

MSU eats everyone up with their opportunistic fast break. EVERYONE! But not tonight. I'm dumbfounded how we did that.

Honest to God, I thought we were going to get fed into a woodchipper. One of my seat mates said we were going to "get creamed." The Gophers were coming off their one or two worst performances of the conference season. I'm high on life right now.
 



So glad I don't bet on sporting events....I would've bet a paycheck on Sparty in this one. Didn't think we would have anything left after the PSU debacle.....

I love this team.....in Niko I trust.
 

Somebody needs to ask Reynolds if he's ambidextrous??? He shoots left handed but threw that last second half court pass to Asuma with his right hand. Bizarre.
