ABSOLUTELY NO ISSUE WITH GOING FOR IT.......

BUT WAT THE **** IS WITH THE CLOCK MANAGEMENT__NEW COACHES PLEASE, LET'S END THIS FIASCO

Did you expect anything else?

Minnesota vs. Michigan - did you really expect an outcome other than complete disbelief in the way that the Gophers managed to blow the game? The Michigan vs. Michigan St. blocked punt TD was a once in a lifetime event for Michigan - we get 1 or 2 of those a season. Sometimes it sucks to be a Gopher.

On the upside - if we could get a real QB out there, I think our offense could be explosive. I think Kill was way too conservative. Although ML got extremely lucky today, I think our receivers did a nice job even though it seems pass interference is allowed vs. us.

56 seconds and a time out.... 3 plays is all you can run

That's pretty pathetic considering one was an incompletion and another was a first down.

Official Michigan Post-Game Rant Thread

Saw his remarks prior to the game, to the team. Said to my wife, "He's not the guy." Uninspiring, inarticulate, just not first rate stuff there.

Then, to blow it at the end with the clock counting down, shifting into the shotgun, sitting on a timeout? Then, after blowing that opportunity to win it outright, to eschew the chip shot to get to OT? Unbelievable, yet somehow so perfectly believable if you're a long-suffering MN sports fan like me.

This staff can hit the road. All night long there were breakdowns and it finally cost us. Harbaugh coached a poor game. Our guys were worse. Jerry deserved far better. But that era ended, tonight. A golden opportunity was wasted.

Clean house!

No, as soon as he caught the ball I said "he's down at the one, and we will lose."

My 8 year old son just went to bed crying

Early education on being a Gopher fan.

Be effing bad enough to let him sort his candy or win the damned game. Don't effing tease him all night, have a winning touchdown called, and then pull that chit at the goal line with the clock running. It freaking killed him.

I blame myself for this.

Why have I done this to him? Why didn't I raise him to be a fan of just about any other team in any other sport?

Same. 6-year-old. Not crying, but wondering why Dad was so down... Confused.
It hurts.

My kids are growing up in Pittsburgh. Just today I said something about the Vikings, and then I looked at my little boy and said, "no, you're going to be a Steelers fan, I can't let you grow up with the same pain that I have." There can be no more pain in sports than being a Minnesota fan.

I'm glad I didn't send a letter to President Kaler to keep this staff.

There was nothing uninspiring about the effort. It's fine to admit you have no clue

God Damn Mother****ing horse****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is all

This would rival 2003 except that game meant so much more. The actual ending is worse. You could see 2003 coming the entire 4th quarter. This was 19 seconds of hell.

We certainly made some poor coaching decisions when it really mattered. I liked our chances going into OT with their back up QB playing. Oh well....

This isn't high school or Friday Night Lights.

You take the FG with 2 seconds left. If you don't have an issue with it then you and Claeys have something in common - neither of you should be a head coach.

They ran 3 plays in 56 seconds

One time out.
One first down.
One incompletion.

56 seconds???!!!

All Time Cluster F***

19 secs left. 1/2 yard to go. 1 TO left.

I know, lets let the clock run down, shift into the gun and risk running out the clock with an incomplete pass. After coaching and playing a great game when it comes down to the nut cutting, our offensive brain trust wasn't prepared for prime time.

The winning or tying finish of this game was taken from the players who gave it their hearts by an offensive coach who either wasn't aware that the clock would be wound or knowing it would be called the dumbest play of all time. It was actually very fortunate we even got the last play off.

What a heart break.

With replay going and 19 seconds left and a timeout.....clock management shouldn't be so hard. Qb sneak first, if you don't get it call timeout. Then take a shot. If you don't score, AT WORST you kick a field goal to take it to overtime against a backup QB.

So frustrating.

They were playing for the FG all the way. They took one shot at the end zone and it happened to work but the play calling to that point was extremely gutless. You try to WIN the game the whole last drive, not sit there and be content with 2 yard runs.

They are high school coaches.

We could have even SPIKED it on first down, for much, much, much better effect - and not nearly as stupid.

Agree. Claeys knew the clock would start. Even the TV coverage showed him winding his arm. His whole plan was to use 2 plays if necessary.

However, I would have kicked and taken my chances at home facing a 2nd string QB who has completed 1 more pass than I have balls.

I am absolutely shattered.

Wow...this is not the quote, or the thread I quoted. That kind of night I guess.

1) AMAZING effort by the kids. Inspired in all facets.

2) Great gameplan on both sides of the ball. The staff was clicking on all cylinders for 59:41. Totally shut down MI running game. Took deep shots in 1 - 1 coverage off play action. Got the run game going after softening MI up. It was a thing of beauty.

3) Worst 19 seconds in the history of Gopher football. WHich is REALLY saying something. I feel like my heart got ripped out twice this week. Thanks, Gophers.

4) Unfortunately, all the goodwill the staff built up with their magnificent gameplan was flushed down the toilet with that pathetic end to the game. There. are. no. words. for that garbage!!! I need a beer and a good cry. FML.

I probably run first down. Spike on second. Throw on third. Field goal 4th.

The thing with a run. If it isn't clear. They likely have to review it. Giving you time to call a play and get lined up.

Letting that 17 seconds run was the worst thing that could have happened aside from a fumble or INT.

Dumbest coaching effort ever. You could try your hardest to coach worse, and you would fail.

This perfectly sums it up.
