blame the defense all you want but the offense and special teams have done nothing to help them. They never should have fielded the ball on the punt inside the 5 and then they tripped on the kick off to get the ball at the 10. The defense gets a turnover and instead of it being 1st and goal it’s 1st and 10 from the Minnesota 45.
 

Our defense looks like they aren't all on the same page.

He was absolutely correct. That is a fast transition play and is NOT the point of emphasis for that call. It is a penalty that is exactly what needed to happen.

Question able rule, horrible application. SPOT ON for standing up for his player. Anybody know where Fleck eats his steaks?
 

This looks like the opposite of MN vs. Nebraska last year. Just outclassed in every way and getting DOMINATED in the trenches.
 


Well if we can score then a pig flies and we stop them we get the ball to start the half
 

Choosing to play the game like we are a normal team is just infuriating. Honestly wish the season would be cancelled with our defense and the game strategy the staff is bringing to the table.
 


They got their win last week....Every game after will be a blowout loss
 

I hope IOWA doesnt pass the rest of the game. I feel like PJ needs a wake up call on how the defense has been developed the last 4 years.
 


We look confused and tentative on defense and iow a runs a vanilla offense!!!! Somebody needs to blow a basket on defense and start winning the battle.
 

Wow, this defense is simply atrocious. Nobody even tries to get off of blocks or to make plays. It'd sure be nice if even one guy back there showed some level of desire. They've already checked out on that side of the ball and it's not halftime yet.
 


No different than the game last year...offense doesn’t show up and Iowa scores 20 Ambrose the half. Gophers then have to chase the game all second half. This vaunted passing game is an absolute mess right now.
 


I wonder what the coaching staff thought about the defense going into the season...do you think they looked at this anemic group of trash and were like "oh yeah...these guys are going to be just fine"
 

You see defenses run blitz or just change something against us...we do the same things on defense every play
