Was awesome watching the team battle back, great way for the seniors (especially Willis) to go out at home. Yeah, it was a loss (no * needed BB, we get it), but the people at the game had a heck of a time in the second half and the barn was rocking. There is more to sports than just the record, most get that....and those are the people that can find enjoyment in a season even if the record isn't what you would like it to be.

100%. I wasn't expecting to have as much fun as I had this year (first year season ticket holder) at the Barn. Outside of the Illinois and OSU games.....the Gophers put on a show in every game.

I had KFAN on after the game and the seniors gave their speeches. Wish I would have known this was all happening. I would have stayed.

They announced at the game there would be senior day presentations after the game.

Because the redshirt year and the COVID year happened the same year, he only gets one extra year of competition out of it, which was this year at Minnesota.

Wonderful response from the guy who was too stupid to stay for Senior Day ceremonies after the game when it was announced repeatedly. LOL!!! "I wish I had known, I would have stayed." Can't fix dumb.

He might be, I'm not sure...but he's not related to Mychal Thompson or Treyton either.

Thompson was the #186 best player in the nation....and you expect Ben Johnson to "recruit at a higher level than TT can reach".

Yeah, all about perspective. For those obsessed with the record this was always going to be a rough season. Lot of positive signs for what this program can become under Johnson's leadership when he has the horses to truly compete with the rest of the conference. This group has preformed way better than they should have on paper, which to me says that Johnson has a good eye for talent and knows what kind of player he is looking for.

Darrell Thompson grew up in Rochester and the mother of his sons is white (his wife) so you can’t race bait about the names of their children.
Mychal Thompson is from the Bahamas and no relation to Darrell.

The red shirt year was an opt out during the covid season that he got back this year. It's not a 2 for 1 special

The ones obsessed with the record are a lot of the same posters who disliked/hated the Johnson hire. They think the record this year is validation that the Gophers made the wrong hire. Personally....I think the record this year is evidence of the opposite. But really.....year one with this roster doesn't tell us a whole lot.

Yep, we get a sense this year of what style basketball Johnson is going to play and we get an idea of what kind of player he is going to target.

All things considered the results this year have been encouraging from the standpoint that an undermanned team with a ton of new faces has won a decent number of games and given some tournament caliber teams everything they can handle on a lot of nights.

We won't be winning the NCAA tournament this year so to Barn Burner and a few others the season is a failure but for the rest of us who can see beyond just the record there has been a lot to like this year with this team.
