Official "I Rushed The Field vs Nebraska" Thread - Share Your Experiences!!

I rushed the field with two friends of mine and one of the guys daughters, who is 9. The guy's daughter got pictures taken on Goldys Slide and she loved the experience. He bought her a Gopher sweatshirt and she wore it all weekend. Gotta love it!

We took pictures with Matilus and with Aaron Hill. Both were great to talk to and thanked us for coming to the games. The coolest thing I saw was David Cobb who was telling a reporter to wait to be interviewed until he was done signing autographs for kids.

That is pretty darn awesome!

Another highlight for me was the great impromptu performance by the band! I have to think this game will increase demand for Student tickets.

Wouldn't call it a rush. I walked on the field with my 10-year-old nephew. He was thrilled as could be.

Got a photo of him with David Cobb as Cobb was kneeling on one knee, signing autographs, mostly on the white towels that were handed out. Cobb was very appreciative and patient with the kids surrounding him.

Keep in mind, I'm the same guy who gave up his tickets to the Indiana-Gopher basketball game last year so that another nephew/diehard Gopher fan could go with his dad. So happy that my nephew got to see the Gophers beat #1, not as thrilled I probably missed out on a once-in-a-lifetime thing. However, I think yesterday was proof that positive karma will come back your way. A good deed does indeed get returned. Instead of a court-storming, I got a field-rush.

Did anyone else catch the BTN highlight of the fans hopping down on the field where a girl fell as she jumped on the field and her pants came down a little and she gave a 1/2 moon? It was hilarious. I was surprised they showed it in their highlight clip.

My wife and I saw that as well.

Some pretty awesome stories in this thread. Really cool how respectful the players are and and how much they appreciate the support. I think that starts at the top. Everyone I know who's met Kill has said the same thing. He takes his time talking with fans and seems really sincere.

I had an absolute fantastic experience. My 13 year old son talked about rushing the field the entire game. I kept telling him I wasn't sure if it would be allowed but if it was, he had a deal. As the clock hit zero, it took a moment, but sure enough, kids started pouring over the wall. Our row ends in stairs to the field so it is a safe place to get to the field. I don't think I got to the "K" in "okay" and my son was GONE. My wife, 4th grade daughter, and I followed. My son was on his own so the three of us just sort of wandered toward the middle of the field. I pretty much just wanted her to be close to a player, any player, to appreciate the size and physique of a D1 football player. We came upon one and only one player... none other than Ra'Shede Hegeman! That kid was so cool. Considering what he and his teammates had just accomplished, he was going out of his way to pose for photos with anyone that asked. Completely gracious, totally humble. He bent over and put his arm around our 4th grade daughter and my wife took a quick photo. The look on her face on that photo... it is absolute complete joy. I guarantee she will never forget it. As we headed back to our seats, a group of cheerleaders also went out of their way to pose for a second photo with our daughter, with all the chaos of the field rush in the background.

Meanwhile, my son was way ahead of us. He got out there early and took about a half dozen 'selfies' with any player he could find. I asked him later and he said every one of them were kind and accomodating. One took it a step further. When we reunited, my son was wearing Aaron Hill's Nike glove. He said Aaron simply handed it over, just to be nice.

Our oldest son wasn't at the game. He had talked MANY times of his regret at not being at either Iowa game and how he had so badly wanted to rush the field. But, he had responsibilities (basketball stuff) that kept him from going to the game on Saturday and he sent a text to our other son jokingly telling him to bring back a glove if the field was rushed. I don't think any of us saw the rest of the day actually resulting in that.

An absolute magical day at TCF Bank Stadium.

I rushed the field two years ago at the Iowa game with a friend and was able to meet up with my daughter who's on the cheer squad. Although I really wanted to do it again, I thought better of it through the last five minutes of the game as I'm getting "too old" for that stuff.

However, my wife pointed out that there was a 14 y/o boy sitting behind us with parents who were closer to retirement than my age (44), and he REALLY was wanting to go down. So, as the clock ticked down and I looked to the isle and saw our tailgating companions heading down to the field (they're in their 30s), I turned around and asked if he wanted to go down. I saw his eyes light up, but he deferred until his parents pushed him my way, so a charging away we went.

I took him out to midfield in the mayham and tried to put him on my shoulders so he could get to all the players. "Fail" on my part (not as strong as I used to be), but I was able to hold him up until the players mostly cleared the field (too the tuned of a strained muscle in my back today, but it was worth it). We then went to see if I could find my daughter and he got lost in the chaos, but ended up by RH right at the end of that video. Dude is a MONSTER in person.

Never did find my daughter until after the game, which was a disappointment. However, I saw her on the video posted on this thread and how crazy she was, so that was some consolation. Memories of a lifetime that we can share indirectly.
