Let's hear it Gophers fans, what was the best part of rushing the field today?

I rushed off my couch in excitement when the game was over. Does that count?

I watched it from the stands but I did appreciate how the Nebraska players congratulated the Gopher players. They were a class act and so were their fans. By comparison they make Iowa and Wisconsin fans look really bad.

P.S. I don't think we suffered any injuries today but Goldy got absolutely mauled by our fans. Fortunately, I believe there multiple Goldies so we should be okay.

A great moment. Those who think rushing the field is silly can go pound sand. Good for those kids. If you are over 40 and rushed the field .....

I'm about to give Ra'Shede five in this photo and, yes, I am over 40

I flew a long damn way to be at TCF today.

I rushed the field!

It sure takes a lot longer to fill a football field with fans than a basketball court.

Hageman looks like a men among boys in the video. Shows the huge difference between the athletes and rubes/fans that many of us are.

Blah. This was a big enough win where I think it's acceptable for ANY fan to rush the field.

I'm 54 and you couldn't have kept me off if you tried! All these years of head shaking frustration were released today!! Hope to do it again against Wisco!:clap::clap::clap:

I agree with you and jaymil ... just having fun. I just prefer to watch the kids run out there. Awesome school pride moment.

I didn't rush the field but was happy to see the students do it. FORMO and I watched and were happy for both the players and the students.

I know we will hear Reusse and Soupcan say "act like you've been there" but screw them. Our student body hasn't had a lot to cheer for lately, go and rush that field!!!

Agree. My take on rushing the field is that it is (primarily) 18-22 year old kids. Why do we care what they do? The options are a) rush the field peacefully, jump around and be happy or b) make a bee-line to wherever they are getting booze. So let them have fun.

This guy!

It was just as much fun watching the rush from the 2nd deck. You could see all the people start to jump up and down together as the bowl started to fill and then switch to Jerry, Jerry, .... Those of us left in stands just stood around with our arms up, fist pumps, high fives, understanding why all the people were out there hugging players, each other and celebrating.
The NE band sat in dead silence and didn't move from their corner, the NE fans who didn't leave earlier sat and watched us .... they seemed to understand.

After the Iowa win two years ago, I gave Shede a huge slap on the shoulder pads and said that he had a hell of a game. I credit myself credit for motivating Shede to develop into what a great player he is now with that moment. Today, I gave the same slap on Cockran's shoulder pads and told him he had a hell of a game. I am passing the torch and expect Cockran to develop into an absolute machine much like Hageman.

(Of course, I am joking about that being an inspiring moment for #99... kinda).

LBJ, you're clearly the impetus for our program turning the corner. Well done! ;)

My wife and I brought our two month old daughter to the game today. In a proud moment of parenting, I hopped the wall and my wife lowered our infant daughter to me before she hopped over herself.

I rushed the field.

I feel no shame.

You NEVER graduate!

IAM4Goldy and I went to the student section a few minutes before the game finished to run on with them. We had to "jump" the wall from that area and we saw one student mess up his ankle/lower leg pretty bad. The security guards did a very good job of seeing it happen and surrounded him so that people didn't jump on him. They then were able to remove him from the area so he was safe and could get some care. I hope he's alright, although he was in a lot of pain.

After that incident, it was a typical "Minnesota Nice" field rush as strangers were helping the person down who jumped the wall after them to make sure they landed safely. Whenever I see a field rush I always get uneasy feelings about the scary situation in Madison in the early 90s, but for the most part yesterday seemed relatively safe and it was a great way to celebrate the first defining moment of the Kill Era.

Here's looking forward to this only being the beginning of some fantastic moments in the Kill Era!

Go Gophers!!

And to top that off, BB, you won the Predict the Score Contest!!!

Whoa there hoss. First win against the Huskers since 1960? Damn right you rush the field. Mrs Flywheel and I enjoyed it from the stands and set photo's to all the kids.

I'm rushing, I'm rushing.

Presently just outside of Rodgers.

After I got to somewhere around midfield, I turned around to see Elliot Eliason and Mo Walker towering over me along with I think Austin Hollins and Mav and probably most if not all of the rest of the basketball team. Got to high five players, gave Nelson and Leidner pats on the back. I saw the Teletubbies in the video posted earlier in the thread, they showed up maybe halfway through the first quarter and sat (well, stood because it's the student section) right next to me.

Took my son out on the field, but waited until after the peak of the craziness had subsided a bit since he’s just seven. The whole thing was fantastic, but the part I’ll remember most was seeing Peter Mortell still out on the field. He was in a small group when a young woman he was talking to noticed my son cautiously approaching them and motioned to Peter. He immediately recognized the situation and graciously allowed us to take a picture, even kneeling down so that they were at the same height. And afterwards, he thanked me.

That's pretty cool! Thanks for sharing! :)

I rushed the field with two friends of mine and one of the guys daughters, who is 9. The guy's daughter got pictures taken on Goldys Slide and she loved the experience. He bought her a Gopher sweatshirt and she wore it all weekend. Gotta love it!

We took pictures with Matilus and with Aaron Hill. Both were great to talk to and thanked us for coming to the games. The coolest thing I saw was David Cobb who was telling a reporter to wait to be interviewed until he was done signing autographs for kids.
