***OFFICIAL HAMLINE AT MINNESOTA EXHIBITION IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Interesting, so he could miss 1 to 4 months. Great stuff as always
Depends somewhat on whether he has had dislocations before. First one is sometimes most traumatic and takes longer too heal. If shoulder is looser the head of humerus comes out easier, but also goes back in with less trouble and tightens up quicker. That is overly simplistic but I knew hockey players who had shoulder dislocations reduced and then played the next period, if not the next shift. But not their first one.

For those who could watch the two scrimmages, does anyone think Grove is strong enough to play defense and rebound in the post? Can he help us while Frank heals?

Just finished watching the replay.
My impressions after watching two exhibitions is that the prediction of last place in the B1G is probably warranted. I think Coach Johnson can draw up a solid offense, but ironically he cannot recruit elite athletes to play at UMN and it's the poor recruiting that will do him in as a head coach. Ben can game plan, but he's game planning with lower mid-major talent against elite D1 talent and the outcome is going to be more losses than wins. In the B1G conference it will not surprise me to see the Gophers take last place. We just don't have enough talent to be successful.

That being said, I will hope for the best.
The gophers might finish last in big ten, but how do you take these exhibition games seriously? We were missing key elements to this team and every team basically sleep walks through these games. You're probably the same guy who gets worried that the twins record in pre season was terrible or buxtons avg was only .180 in the pre season. Relax these games mean absolutely nothing.

I'd be surprised if he gets on the court this season. He was getting tied up by MIAC players.

You are correct, these games are meaningless and vanilla. As I stated, I hope my observations are wrong and the team is more athletic than what I see. However, I think this team is going to struggle in the B1G.

Whether Buxton is hitting .280 or .180 you know he is going to get injured in short order, so you are right, it is nothing to worry about.

has anyone seen anything on the F. Mitchell injury? if it was minor, you would think they would have said so by now. the longer this goes with no word, I suspect that means it's more serious.

hope I'm wrong. If he's out for an extended period, Edmonds will have to pick up a lot of those minutes. having said that, I'm encouraged by what we've seen of Edmonds. but, it still impacts the depth on the front line.
